We stayed at Hotel Batuda for two nights. The hotel is located approximately 6 km from Split Riva promenade. For transport, there’s a bus station nearby, but you need to take two buses to reach the Split center. We opted for Uber/Bolt, which took just 15 minutes and cost between 6 and 7 euros – it was very convenient. The breakfast was really nice, and we were very satisfied with the food. The reception staff was also excellent; they were friendly and the reception was available 24 hours a day. There’s a supermarket nearby, which was very useful. The hotel is very clean, and well maintained. We also had a room with a lovely view of the mountains, and it was quite spacious as well.

Wonderful location in the middle of the historic old town, large and beautiful room, excellent breakfast. We had a great stay at Heritage Hotel San Lucia while in Split for the marathon. I cannot recommend this hotel enough for the race -- easy walk to the start/finish, and they opened breakfast early for us runners.

The hospitality was whatever every guest wants. They took really good care of me when I was very tired that day gave me fresh tea and extra fan to call the room and they gave me a complementary massage. I felt very grateful and well taken care of the breakfast area was so nice in the morning, and the staff was very helpful. Coming to the table whenever something needs to be done And at dinner time I had a steak and it was delicious then with the perfect cherry pistachio dessert that was recommended by the waiter.

This is the second time I have stayed at this hotel. The hotel is located in the center of Split, about 500 m from the waterfront. The rooms are spacious with a huge double bed. The breakfast is excellent for everyone's tastes. The staff is extremely friendly, starting from the reception, and especially the lady who organizes breakfast and welcomes guests. Unfortunately, I did not ask for her name, but she will recognize herself. I would higly recommend this hotel!

FAQs about hotels in Split

The Sunny Side of Croatia

Stunning Split stands proudly on the eastern shores of the Adriatic Sea, and due to its great climate is called the Mediterranean Flower. It features eclectic architecture, spectacular views and delicious cuisine.

Split is centered around the ancient Roman Palace of the Emperor Diocletian, a magnificent building constructed at the beginning of the 4th century AD and featuring limestone and marble towers, columns and courtyards. It lies in a bay decorated with white sails of yachts, as sailing is definitely Split’s big thing!

The city is full of architectural gems, one of which is St. Duje’s Cathedral, the oldest cathedral in the world, built in 305 AD and combining both Roman and Catholic influences. Nearby Varoš is a must-see, one of the city’s oldest parts, full of charming streets and beautiful houses.

Make sure you visit the Bačvice Beach and the Riva promenade, popular with locals and full of cafés and palm trees. While on the hunt for local specialities, try soparnik - wood fired dough filled with vegetables - or local soft drinks Pipi and Orela.

So just pack your bags and head to Split Airport! Booking.com has plenty of sunny apartments, friendly guest houses and well-equipped hotels for your Split adventure.

What Guests Said About Split:

Split was a wonderful Old City.

Split was a wonderful Old City. The accommodations we booked with Booking.com showed pictures of rooms that as far as we know don't exist. We stayed one night of the four purchased and moved to another more genuine hotel. We where going to try and make it work for us but the shower was broke and when my wife decided to use the bath tub she only could get a couple of inches of water before the hot water turned cold. The stairs getting up to the 3rd floor were narrow and had no handrails so they were very dangerous. Calling ahead we found out that the facility had been sold and the person that answered the telephone told us to quit bothering her. The number listed was wrong. Took some time to get someone local to find a manager to get the right number. All in all we give this place a non romantic experience. Please tell others to stay away from this place.

I loved the museums & galleries, the old walled city and it's history, the hop on/off buses for historical stories and seeing beyond Split without the walking, their obsession with bakeries and all baked goods!, the non-touristy shops, the quirky little lanes and side streets, the food, the green market for fruit, veg, meat, their beaches (I visited Znjan beach (manmade)) and their turquoise waters. I was only there for 4 days, but it was ideal for seeing a lot and getting a taste of Croatia. My only gripe was some of the locals: sadly, they could be a bit abrupt/rude, non-smiling and unhelpful (unless you were buying something), so that was a bit disappointing as I find the people make the place just as much as the place itself. However, they may just be very reserved. There was a lot of graffitti, and if they could turn that into murals, it would be a new walking tour for visitors ;) My accommodation was fine but noisy, so be thorough with your choice of accommodation if you are a light sleeper. It was an interesting visit though to my first Eastern European city: it had a very different atmosphere/energy to Western European cities.

The old town including the Diocletian Palace and the sea front are great to walk around, very atmospheric with little alleyways everywhere and some good history, although busy and we weren't even in high season. It was also nice to walk up Marjan Hill and have panoramic views of the area. We took a boat (Bura Line) to Tragir which was a good day out.

The apartment was lovely - Aircon worked a treat - Lara the host left us drink in the fridge which was amazing after experiencing Croatian heat for the first time - we also were given toiletry goodie bags! Lara made our stay feel premium and was always there to offer advice on where to go but also if we needed anything extra for the apartment - highly recommend staying here the location is a short walk from the old town and the treatment rivals the most premium hotels! The world needs more Laras!

Such lovely hosts! They met us outside the property to ensure we had a carpark and then helped carry our bags up to the apartment. They gave us a beautiful bottle of wine and local Croatian bakery delights and fruit, such a treat. Lovely apartment, beautifully set up, very comfortable beds. So close to the old town which we loved exploring. The only thing is to be aware that the apartment is on the 3rd floor and there is no elevator, this was not a problem for us, but may be for some.
