Extremely windy place. Have been in several other destinations in Croatia over last 18 Years and this specific destination looks to be the worst in terms of wheather! 6 out of total 9 days heavy wind was comming from inland, so we could not swim most of the time as the water was very cold (much below 20 degrees) and water waves high enabling swimming anyhow.
Zadar is a great place to stay, historic city, well connected with increasingly good tourist offerings. It is also a place from where you can easily go to a number of different day trips (islands, national parks). Sea organ and monument to the Sun are well worth visiting (I do recommend to see them at dusk or later to see their full glory).
On our somewhat brief stay we found Zadar to be a nice Croatian city with some attractions (the sea organ, sun salutation for example) and various bathing possibilities in and around town. Although obviously overshadowed by more historically influenced and UNESCO-marked cities such as the not so distant cities Trogir and Split and of course the further southerly located Dubrovnik we did enjoy some historic buildings in Zadars city center and the city center's atmosphere of more of a day to day life. Rest assure though to find quite a lot of tourist shopping, street artists and gelato-parlors while visiting during tourist season. Zadar restaurants offered us delicious and well cooked food on popular city center dinner spot Bruschetta, as well as in restaurants on cobbled streets, dinner by the lungomare and lunch by beach Borik.
We had several different beaches nearby, our favourite was Borik. We had several interesting excursions, for example to the Kornati islands and Plitvice. We were fascinated by the salt lake in Kornati, the water temperature was about 35 degrees. All the restaurants were good, very big portions: 1 portion was enough at least for two! Easy to find local buses.
Zadar is a real nice city, especially the old town. It has a lot of nice restaurants and shops, but it’s also very touristic. - You can also buy day trips at local providers. I have made the Zadar walking tour f. e. which is offered daily. I was abit dissapointed of the beaches around Zadar which are very stony. A good choice is to visit the half-isle of Nin or other beaches at the isles around Zadar. And please buy special beach shoes because of the stones and see urchins. I recommend to visit Zadar not in July and August, because it’s extremely hot over there. Spring and autumn is the better choice.
We've stayed at Angelo's apartment for 3 days and absolutely loved it!!! The apartment is located aprox.5 min away from the busy streets of Old Town , 5 min. to the airport bus station and a supermarket arround the corner of the street. Very clean place , has air conditioning and is equipped with everything ...including a wine bottle opener ( in case you want to try the croatien wine) :) Thank you Angelo for sharing your home with us.We had a blast. I highly recommended!!
Zadar
Big, clean, comfortable room. Great location. Very close to the main bus station (bus to Zadar airport or bus to different other towns in Croatia, bus to Plitvice National Park, etc). Walking distance (aprox 10-15 min) to the beach, old town and Sea Organ. Supermarket nearby. Bakery across the street. Friendly and helpfull owners. If you have some matter for which you need help or more information, just ask, they will do everything they can to help you. Thank you Marijana!
Location is absolutely perfect. Right in the centre of the old town. Check in process was very quick and easy. Basic modern apparent with lovely shower. Above a police station but not noisy at all from the street surprisingly. 15 minute walk to beach but only 2 minutes to the seafront where you can swim off the steps. Zadar it'll itself is a beautiful city well worth a visit if you are in Croatia.
Zadar
The Well is a great central base for a trip to Zadar. You’re only a minute away from Narodni Trg (the main square) and five minutes at most from the Roman Forum. We were pleased with the room itself - spacious bed, bedside plugs, smart TV, fridge, excellent shower, fast wifi. It felt like a more luxurious hotel room but you are contained within an apartment block.
Zadar
The host was one of the nicest people that I met in Croatia. She was extremely kind and spoke very well. She had even kept the AC switched on for our arrival on a hot summery day. The place is also quite close to the old town. Most of the places can be visited on foot. There is also a restaurant downstairs and a couple of supermarkets and restaurants close-by.
Zadar
Mario which is working at the reception was very friendly and made me feel like I was at home. Showed much interest in sharing history of Zadar and spoke about his traveling experience. I would rate their hospitality with 10 out 10 and would recommend this hostel to anyone who visits Zadar. Every hostel and hotel needs more staff like Mario is 😀

Zadar
Perfect place to stay in Zadar! Walking distance to lots of cafes, restaurants and Old Town (grateful for the tip from the hotel owner to take the rowboat ferry across to the old town), and swimming in the Adriatic. The room was spacious and airy, the balcony had picture perfect views and the breakfast was very good.

- Design of the room - Sound Proof window - New mordern room - Have accessories like in hotel - Hotel feeling - Central Location for old town and city tour - The host is extremely helpful and friendly - Daily clean or change the towel
The location was convenient for access to old town Zadar, and not far from a parking lot if you need it. The room was a good size and self check-in was convenient. I thought the price was fair for the quality and location.
Breakfast is wonderful. The restaurant ranks 1. in Zadar. Cross a small street you can reach beach. The hotel provides towels, sun umbrella, and lying chairs, for free at the beach, so the experience is very nice.

Great location, close easy walk into old town Zadar. Hotel was beautifully renovated and the rooms were very comfortable. Food was amazing as well!
Nice little hotel, not far from Zadar center. It has private parking and it is just few meters away from the sea. Decent breakfast included.
Facilities are outstanding, the room was very large and with a very nice “submarine” style. Personnel was very kind and there is a large playroom for children. Dinner and breakfast (buffet) absolutely perfect for quality and variety. Absolutely perfect for families.
