If you want to walk, it's an ideal place to walk (if the weather conditions are ok)... If you don't want to or can't walk then you have to take either tahi or public transport. (For my conditions and standrad is too expensive). The old town of Zadar and the surrounding places (beaches, islands, cultural historical monuments, etc.) are ideal for visiting when you are already in this city. As for food, here (In Zadar) food is varied and beautiful but unfortunately I will say about my (our) conditions and standard is TOO EXPENSIVE. What I don't like when I come to Zadar is the distance from my country (where I live) and the road is too long and it all makes me very tired... If I have to sum it up then I will say : ZADAR IS A VERY BEAUTIFUL CITY
Zadar is a wonderful town, which offers the atmosphere of the good old days. Full of friendly people, and wonderful centuries-old architecture. I recommend it for lovers of art, archaeology and history, I especially recommend it for writers who will surely find inspiration in these narrow marble streets. Zadar is a hit in the winter. I will definitely look here inspiration again .
When you arrive at Zadar Airport, take the bus to town. It's only EUR 5,-- and the bus driver accepts Euros. Best have your fivers ready because he/she might not have enough change. Within 20 minutes you're in the old town. The streets look wet, but they are somewhat polished by everybody who walks around. Stone houses and bridges left and right. The sea is right there and the most amazing sight is the sea organ. Go there in the evening and listen to the sea making music. There is also solar floor art right there. If you have an extra full day, grab the ferry to Ugljan. It's not even a 30-minute ride away and costs ~EUR 2,50 if you get the ticket at the official ticket office. You can also hop on the bus and go to Nin within 20 minutes. It's an old village with salt production and a museum. Overall, Zadar is a very clean and cute little town surrounded by wonderful nature.
A beautiful and interesting city, with many monuments and important places. The most beautiful sunsets and the sound of the sea organ. Friendly people, great food and drink. There is always something to discover and why to come back.
The old town is steeped in history, with lots of great places to eat, have coffee and ice cream - the markets were good. It was difficult to get around Zadar City if you don't have a car - could do with some guides in English and where to get transport to places - Boat cruises are plentiful - we went on a couple and they were worth doing. You really need a good 7 days to explore all of Zadar and the beaches.
Staying in old Zadar was an unexpected delight. It has the gleaming white stone of split and Dubrovnik without the crowds. The sea organ and greeting the sun installations on the water front were a marvel. It needs to be experienced after the sun sets. We were looking for an in between stop between split and zageb but got so much more!
Both me and my partner very highly rate Guest House Dragic! Our host made us feel right at home as soon as we got to the hotel and helped us book some really nice days out to plitvice lakes and a boat trip from zadar. Rooms where spotless and had good facilities. Pool area was spotless as well had a really nice relaxing vibe. Location was good with a few bars and shops near by and only a 20-25 min walk to the old town. Would definitely stay again at guest house Dragic!
Zadar
Apartment super located by the beach in a quiet neighborhood, only 4 km from the old town of Zadar, 300 m to the supermarket and ATM, close to the bus stop. Comfortable bed, well equipped kitchen, big bathroom, terrace with garden furniture, sunbeds at guests' disposal. The owner Brankica super nice and helpful, always smiling. Offers transfer to/from airport (extra charge), latte coffee and croissant on the beach :)) Beautiful sunset! I will definitely come back.
Zadar
This was by far the best place we have stayed at during this trip. Ana is the dream host, incredibly generous and accommodating. She responded within a few minutes to all our messages, great Ed us with true Balkan hospitality, provided with lots of extras, from a bottle of wine, fresh fruit, sweets etc. Apartment is amazing, better than 5 star hotels, in the absolute heart of Zadar, quiet street, within a few mins walk from paid and free parking. Exceptional and beautiful!
The Almayer is a nice boutique hotel, but what makes the place EXCELLENT is the staff! From the moment you walk through the door until the time you check out, you become part of the Almayer family. The staff went above and beyond to make my wife’s birthday exceptionally special! They are also very knowledgeable pertaining to restaurant recommendations and local attractions. I highly recommend the Almayer to anyone visiting Zadar! Very special thanks to Elena and Ivan!
Zadar
Famly run business. Well appointed kitchen.Residental locality with close bus stop into Zadar old town. 2 supermarkets and local bars and vegetable market, 3 minutes walk away. Free Air conditioning. 15 minute easy walk via shortcut into Zadar. Free wifey. Ivan was very helpful with things to do. Airport transfer about €30 (£25) cheapest around. Only larger shops and restaurants take card payments,so take some local currency. Enjoyable 2 week stay.
Zadar
The hotel is in the city center, the rooms are clean, our was a small room for two, like we wanted, for one night's stay, the host was nice, he waited for us after the check-in time, Zadar is a beautiful city and staying at this hotel you have the opportunity to explore the city very comfortable. I want to emphasize that they have amazing breakfast, it is not included in the room price but it if worth it to try, it is delicious
Everything was great, but the bed - behind the table - seemed uncomfortable for a third person. The double bed I slept in was very comfortable. In general, there was a calm and comfortable environment throughout the hotel. I really liked the restaurant and the prices, and it's not expensive to take a taxi to the center of Zadar. I will definitely come back
Zadar
Anja is lovely and her apartment is equally adorable. Right next to the Forum you could not have a better location in Zadar old town. Beautifully decorated it belies its front door and stairs, high spec in every sense and good Wi-Fi. I loved staying there as nothing is far away, but I still felt I had something much more than a hotel room to return to.
Ivo, the owner himself, received us with open arms and a big smile. The location is excellent, just in front of the marina and within walking distance of the old town. Spotless and comfortable facilities. Hotel parking is right in front of the building. Two flights of stairs were not a problem as the always helpful Ivo helped with the bags.
Zadar
- The strategic location of the room, in the middle of the old town of Zadar. - The room's design, cleaness and equipement. - The kindness of the manager. - The fact that it is not a "conventional" hotel make it feel like you're staying in your "own" place. And the management office is at just 1 minute walk.
Close to Zadar and Directly across from the water/boardwalk. Great for adults/swimming children. Non-swimming children will require floating assistance. FYI Hotel Niko and Nico are two different places. Both nice. But our group accidentally was split due to the confusion.
Nice family owned hotel located in the old town of Zadar. Attentive and helpful hosts. Major tourist attractions and restaurants are within hand's reach. Free parking outside the residence if you book a spot in advance.
Zadar
The property itself is in a fantastic location, ease of access to the busy streets of Zadar old town, but perched in its own courtyard off to the side. Also close to the promenade.
Zadar
Very clean, had everything we needed, comfortable, easy parking, close walking to old town. quiet, nice outdoor area. I will definitely book this place when we go back to Zadar.
If you have a car nice location nice hotel good restaurant and friendly stuff . Park near the walking bridge and walk from there to the old town Zadar center
Perfect place in the heart of Zadar. I can't recommend this hotel enough.
Comfort like in a 4/5 star hotel.
