Zadar is one of the best destination in Croatia. There is a lot of ship cruises to the near islands and else. Nightlife is also perfect with family or for young couples too. Old town is very interresting with the beautiful coast and the Sea Organ. Used to be small festivals here with concerts and fresh sea streetfood. Very recommended!
It is a new experience if you haven't been there before. The prices are reasonable compared to other places in Croatia. It has an enjoyable nightlife. It is a bit slower than many places but it has a nice outdoor club area in the old town which should more than suffice. It is not the prettiest place in the world, it offers old and tacky architecture with a hint of that rough Eastern-Europeanness. It has not perfect beaches but I guess good enough. The highlight of my stay here was the visit to Plitvice park.
Extremely windy place. Have been in several other destinations in Croatia over last 18 Years and this specific destination looks to be the worst in terms of wheather! 6 out of total 9 days heavy wind was comming from inland, so we could not swim most of the time as the water was very cold (much below 20 degrees) and water waves high enabling swimming anyhow.
Zadar is a great place to stay, historic city, well connected with increasingly good tourist offerings. It is also a place from where you can easily go to a number of different day trips (islands, national parks). Sea organ and monument to the Sun are well worth visiting (I do recommend to see them at dusk or later to see their full glory).
On our somewhat brief stay we found Zadar to be a nice Croatian city with some attractions (the sea organ, sun salutation for example) and various bathing possibilities in and around town. Although obviously overshadowed by more historically influenced and UNESCO-marked cities such as the not so distant cities Trogir and Split and of course the further southerly located Dubrovnik we did enjoy some historic buildings in Zadars city center and the city center's atmosphere of more of a day to day life. Rest assure though to find quite a lot of tourist shopping, street artists and gelato-parlors while visiting during tourist season. Zadar restaurants offered us delicious and well cooked food on popular city center dinner spot Bruschetta, as well as in restaurants on cobbled streets, dinner by the lungomare and lunch by beach Borik.
We had several different beaches nearby, our favourite was Borik. We had several interesting excursions, for example to the Kornati islands and Plitvice. We were fascinated by the salt lake in Kornati, the water temperature was about 35 degrees. All the restaurants were good, very big portions: 1 portion was enough at least for two! Easy to find local buses.
I asked for a room with a nice (sea) view and my request was fulfilled. Room 320 with a great view over the pool and the sea was perfect! Also asked for extra pillows and they were there. The room was actually bigger then I expected, practical working desk, good WiFi, good bathroom, minibar and nice balcony. All staff were very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was great, a lot of choice, warm and cold and good coffee. Free parking in front of the hotel was excellent. The location is great, it's really a short walk to the center of Zadar.
Zadar
Quick and easy communication with the host, who gave us an overview of what to do and see in Zadar. The place is clean, modern, well equipped an LARGE. Around 20 minutes from the old town, you can take a path along the coast if you go there by foot (highly recommend it, you'll see a small recreation of the Sphinx). If you'd rather drive, we were told there's a very cheap parking right by the center. Zadar itself was not what we expected - in the most positive way. Go there if you can, and stay at Natali's place!
Zadar
Check-in was smooth. Rozana tells you everything you need to know around the area. You have access to her number and she will be there in less than 10 mins in case you need anything. Fridge coffee and tea in the kitchen. No problem with WiFi. From the hostel to the beach is within 10 mins and 15 mins to the old town. The room is spacious and clean. Lockers and changing area inside the room. Apparently there's so much to do in Zadar and a lot of places nearby but I only got to stay for one night. Will definitely come back.
Both me and my partner very highly rate Guest House Dragic! Our host made us feel right at home as soon as we got to the hotel and helped us book some really nice days out to plitvice lakes and a boat trip from zadar. Rooms where spotless and had good facilities. Pool area was spotless as well had a really nice relaxing vibe. Location was good with a few bars and shops near by and only a 20-25 min walk to the old town. Would definitely stay again at guest house Dragic!
Zadar
No breakfast here as self catering only. Host was waiting in garden for us when we pulled up in taxi, spoke good English and gave really good advice on getting around. Neighbourhood is peaceful with friendly folk.Three small supermarkets nearby, a pub right on the beach, and to get to Old Town Zadar take a short walk to harbour entrance pier then get rowed across by a family member who has been doing the job for 800 years apparently, Try some boat trips to nearby islands.
Zadar
Famly run business. Well appointed kitchen.Residental locality with close bus stop into Zadar old town. 2 supermarkets and local bars and vegetable market, 3 minutes walk away. Free Air conditioning. 15 minute easy walk via shortcut into Zadar. Free wifey. Ivan was very helpful with things to do. Airport transfer about €30 (£25) cheapest around. Only larger shops and restaurants take card payments,so take some local currency. Enjoyable 2 week stay.
Location is absolutely perfect. Right in the centre of the old town. Check in process was very quick and easy. Basic modern apparent with lovely shower. Above a police station but not noisy at all from the street surprisingly. 15 minute walk to beach but only 2 minutes to the seafront where you can swim off the steps. Zadar it'll itself is a beautiful city well worth a visit if you are in Croatia.
Zadar
Property is very easy reachable with car and there is private parking. It's 2 minutes walking distance from beautiful beaches. It's very close to Zadar old town. Rooms are very large compared to other apartments we stayed in. Apartment was very clean. Hosts are available for any information and help. Great value for money. I highly recommend it and we will be back definitely.
Zadar
The host was one of the nicest people that I met in Croatia. She was extremely kind and spoke very well. She had even kept the AC switched on for our arrival on a hot summery day. The place is also quite close to the old town. Most of the places can be visited on foot. There is also a restaurant downstairs and a couple of supermarkets and restaurants close-by.
Room was small but comfy. Big clean bathroom and puffy towels. Number of city parking zones are nearby the hotel. The hotel is close to the lovely Zadar’s city center and promenade. The breakfast was tasty and full. The city center and s distanced from the beaches but it was a pleasant walk thru lovely old streets. We enjoyed staying in this place.
Zadar
Mario which is working at the reception was very friendly and made me feel like I was at home. Showed much interest in sharing history of Zadar and spoke about his traveling experience. I would rate their hospitality with 10 out 10 and would recommend this hostel to anyone who visits Zadar. Every hostel and hotel needs more staff like Mario is 😀
Zadar
Exceptionally well-designed, spacious, modern and super clean apartment in Old Town Zadar. Comfortable bed and very quiet. Bakery and grocery store are two minutes away, as well as numerous coffee shops and restaurants. The owner met us outside and the entire communication was seamless. Definitely recommend to stay!
Zadar
super stylish apartment on the coastline in a calm neighborhood not far from Zadar old Town (by car 10 min), host is nice but doesn't speak English well - better use the translator. there were no shampoos and shower gels, but the host provides everything upon request. gorgeous sea view from the window
Zadar
This was a very quiet, private and relaxing stay, but with a very convenient and cheap taxi ride into the bustling old town. The pool was incredible and there were lots of great little restaurants nearby. The staff were really lovely and gave us great recommendations on things to do around Zadar.
Location is great not far away from old town, easily reachable from Zadar airport( first bus to central bus station from there Bus no 8), just on the beach. Rooms are nice and clean. It has wellness and fitness options with reasonable price.
