Overall a great place with an industrial interior, exceeding my expectations for Wonosari, I'd give it a 10 if not the scam they tried to do. On arrival we were taken to a lower standard twin room, when I said I booked a different type of the room (double), they asked me how much I paid and said the room on the picture is more expensive as they work with reddoorz, blablabla. Not the client's problem that they cannot set the price and promotions on the booking platforms accordingly. In the end after the call with manager/owner? we were given the room according to the booking and all was good, but that left a bad first impression.

It is difficult to know where to start. We stayed at the hotel for 6 nights in mid-December last. Our experience at Amaranta Prambanan was possibly the best of any in recent years. The rooms were enormous and well furnished. The restaurant well stocked and served by staff. The swimming pool was satisfactory even if no poolside service. What really made the stay exceptional was the kindness and care of the staff. It was quite exceptional from the restaurant team especially … to the front office staff and drivers. Nothing was too much for them. Nevertheless, what would have been a great experience was taken to another level as we checked out. My partner had taken ill with a bacterial tummy infection. A private doctor was not available. So, FOUR members of staff accompanied us to the local hospital. They checked he was medicated and then drove us to the town station to ensure we met our reserved train. This level of client care is exceptional nowadays and must be celebrated. This place is surreal & I enjoyed every moment of my four night stay. It won’t be everyone’s cup of tea but I found the mix of history and cultures spectacular & I loved my single room with the beautifully carved traditional bed.
