The location was great, right across from the new Icon Bali shopping mall, you could get anything you want or need and you had a short air conditioned walk to the beach. The rooftop pool had a nice atmosphere, (but be careful of loose boards and raised nails). The rooms were big and cool on arrival.

Bali’s oldest beach resort retains its reputation as a glamorous alternative to nearby Kuta. The coastline of Sanur has a long stretch of white sand lined with restaurants and bars. It is tailor made for chic clientele or families wanting to relax in an exclusive resort or villa without the need to party into the wee hours.
Sanur is also a popular day trip destination for tourists staying in Kuta looking to do some water sports. There are many companies offering diving along its submerged outer reef, jet skiing on top of its blue waters or paragliding in the cool breezes above this ocean paradise.
The shoreline features a cycle path that is also perfect for walking and jogging. At its very northern tip is the ferry terminal that offers boat trips to Nusa Lembongan, a small island off the southeast coast of Bali that is famous for its laid-back atmosphere.
Sanur has its fair share of markets providing an impressive range of artistic handicrafts such as wood carvings and batik paintings. Best of these are the Sindhu Market and the daytime beachfront market.
Sanur is the closest beach to the island’s capital, Denpasar, with its many temples and museums. Booking.com has a range of hotels along Sanur Beach or close to Ngurah International Airport, also known as Denpasar International Airport.
Sanur is one of the original old settlements. Really interesting area with lots of various things to see and many various places to eat, relax and refresh. Main St offers shade in both morning and later afternoon, so there is sun protection for sight seers / window shoppers. Doctors and pharmacies available if needs must. Lots of choices for shopping. Bartering still available in most shops, so give it a go. The seaside corniche / promenade is a wide path accommodating both bikes and pedestrians can stroll, taking their time to enjoy the ambiance of the seaside spots. Fabulous - it just feels so exotic - the balinese people are so lovely and you truely have the feeling of being away from your usual grind. Looking forward to returning already!

Sanur used to be a place for relaxing.
Sanur used to be a place for relaxing. Unfortunately it is now full of people. The music on the beach is not there. The atmosphere has gone and the ladies in the beach and stalls are rude and pushy. Locking you in shops till you buy something or following you on walks and grabbing you.

Sanur is more relaxing than other resorts like Seminyak,...
Sanur is more relaxing than other resorts like Seminyak, Kuta Legian etc and that's why this is our second visit there. The beach walk is a delight with plenty of bars and restaurants to suit everyone's budgets and taste. We ate at some lovely restaurants and went back a couple of time to our favourite places which served the best food and excellent live music. Sanur seems small at times to other places but our second visit we found places we had never found first time around. It is so much more relaxing than the frantic resorts which i've already mentioned and when we first visited Bali and stayed in Seminyak which we hated it wasn't until we visited Sanur for a day that we decided we would holiday in Bali again. We will visit again in the future and do a 2 centre like Ubud and Sanur and get the best out of a great relaxing time.

Lots of restaurant/bar options. People very friendly.
Lots of restaurant/bar options. People very friendly. Main narrow road through town very busy and dangerous to cross. Walkway/bike lane along beach is great. If you like to swim in the ocean this is not a place for you. When the tide is out there is no water for swimming. (Ankle deep 🙁)

We greatly enjoy Sanur, and have lived here since 2018.
We greatly enjoy Sanur, and have lived here since 2018. We came to this property, to 'try on' a new location, in a more central spot. Sanur has so many tourist attractions, without the hustle and bustle of the western side of Bali, and has easy access to the airport. Fabulous beach side dining, with lovely walkways at the beach. Transport is easy and cheap, through a local service called GoJek, which is similar to Uber, for those who may not be familiar. Be careful with taxis, as some of them are not legitimate, and may overcharge you. There is an awesome French Bistro called Brasserie Republique, and another restaurant, called Jepun, which are both worth a try. Have a great trip!

A nice relaxing part of Bali.
A nice relaxing part of Bali. The main village is a relaxing place to find restaurants, shopping beaches.
The walking was easier than in Seminyak due to better paths and less traffic.
We found a great Spa for our daily one hour massage. The restaurants are varied so you can eat local through to Italian and seafood (our favourite)
We don't ride scooters or taxis and prefer to walk which is great as said good paths and traffic was easy to negotiate.
All up a good vibe.
Good breakfast.
Our last night in Bali so we wanted a peaceful night sleep and a nice pool to enjoy a relaxing morning before heading to the airport. I’m glad we chose Sanur as its very beautiful still and the taxi ride took an hour, I’m sure it would have been as long or longer if we had stayed closer to the airport due to traffic.
We had our last massage at the Hotel by Martini, it was the BEST of the whole holiday!
This hotel was the most beautiful hotel with the most elegant architecture, incredible hanging gardens, and thoughtful touches. The infinity pools were incredible. The 4pm tea was so lovely. The room was so beautiful. There were such lovely food and coffee items so close by as well. I loved staying at the Maya Sanur so much that I considered cancelling my next destination! I will definitely be back!
Being situated on the beachfront, making a stroll along the walkway very easy and enjoyable. The hotel offered sun lounges on the sand for the guests to enjoy. Breakfast was very good as were the staff.
Not on the beach but only a short 5 min walk to Sanur Beach. Rooms are nice and clean. A/C is good. Food is excellent and staff are polite and helpful. Connecting rooms for families is good.
