They had food you could order at most times during the day. They had an infinity pool and bar. Scooter rentals. Short walk to the beach for surf lessons. Most of the staff spoke decent English. All of the staff were polite, friendly, and helpful.

Well, maybe it said somewhere and I didn't see it but ...you go down to the temple, you cross the water (if you are there at the right time of course because if it is a high tide the path to the temple will be closed) you get to the other side, you get stopped to be blessed (you pay the donation) you go up the stairs and the gate is closed. What!? So you can just turn around and cross the water again.

Tanah Lot was very crowded.
Tanah Lot was very crowded. Nice to see the temples but not much else. The beaches around are crowded with western tourists and the only Balinese people are working in the cafe's and bars. The roads are busier than Bangkok, and more dangerous.

This place is 10% temple 90% tourist.
This place is 10% temple 90% tourist. You pay 60k pp to enter a shopping center that also happens to have the temple inside. There are much better temples to visit for less in Bali! And the temple itself is positioned in a way that you can't see anything from it. Disappointing.

The rooms, the setting, the swimming pool, the design and furnitures, the staff, the meals at the restaurant, the bicycles for visiting the historical site, the Balinese massage... Everything was splendid. Eric and his wife are great hosts. They simply made our stay a wonderful and we will definitely recommend the resort to family and friends staying in Tanah Lot.
Location, location location! It was a little oasis in the middle of the Tanah Lot grounds. It is surrounded by tranquil gardens. Quick walk to the temple. Best place to stay if you want to go to the temple and see it at sunrise, sunset and at different tides.
We liked the fact that this is a smaller hotel with a very intimate atmosphere. The staff was so friendly, they would do anything to help you or to make your stay as comfortable as possible.
