This 400-year old hotel is nestled in the beautiful Vale of Avoca, overlooking Woodenbridge Golf Club. Its modern rooms have free Wi-Fi, while its AA Rosette restaurant serves full Irish breakfasts. Restaurant was excellent both for dinner and breakfast. I had curry for dinner, and it was the best I've ever had. Very comfortable, clean, bright and roomy accommodations.
Woodenbridge Lodge is nestled in the stunning countryside of South Wicklow’s Vale of Avoca. Set in landscaped gardens overlooking the Aughrim River, it offers modern rooms with free Wi-Fi. Located in Wicklow, Green Meadow Farm Holiday Homes has accommodations with free WiFi and a garden with a playground and garden views. Everything was perfect, beautiful place tranquil would highly recommend. Very clean. Everyone loved it. Eggs collecting a huge bonus for the kids. Would go again and again!
Featuring garden views, Meadowbrook Studio provides accommodations with a patio and a kettle, around 5.6 mi from Greenan Farm, Museum and Maze. For us, it was a good location - slightly out of town but a very short drive in. Frances and her husband, John, were great hosts. It's similar to a little granny flat at the back of their house, totally independent with one self-contained room with kitchen equipment in the corner, and a lovely bathroom. Must add that the shower is one of the best I've come across away from home, though a little on the noisy side. Towels were changed every day of our three-night stay. Breakfast was included and stocks were replenished fully every day with fruit and bread too. There's access to fridge, kettle, toaster, and microwave. We were able to store two bikes in the shed. Have absolutely no complaints and no hesitation in recommending.
Lettermore 1 Apartment is located in Rathdrum, 3.1 mi from Greenan Farm, Museum and Maze, in an area where hiking can be enjoyed. Everything was great in this place. The living space/kitchen is nice and open and there is everything you need in the kitchen. There was even freshly baked brown bread and scones left for us which was delicious, I still need to get that recipe! The bedroom was perfect as well, it had an en suite with the shower and toilet which were excellent and modern. The location is peaceful and you have access to most of Wicklows wonders a short drive away. The town of Rathdrum is only a 5 minute drive away, here we went for dinner and a few drinks. We used the number for the taxi that was given to us in the apartment. The food was great! The host, Anne, was so friendly and helpful. She had everything in tip top shape and very covid friendly. She was even sweet enough to give us a thank you note and the end of our stay which we thought was so thoughtful. I would recommend anyone to stay here and I will definitely be returning on my next trip to Wicklow.
Set in Aughrim, Clone Country House features a shared lounge, garden and free WiFi. Featuring family rooms, this property also provides guests with a sun terrace. The property was located nicely off the beaten track. Very nicely situated. The breakfast was lovely and served. Good coffee. Breakfast was to your wish, and was ordered the day before.
Avoca is a quaint and tranquil old time town but yet had all the modern conveniences we have grown accustomed to but this take away from the relaxing atmosphere of the beautiful surroundings. It is central too all the other points of interest travellers would be interested in like glendalough, powers court waterfall, estate and gardens. It also is the place we're ballykissangel was set which allows vustmitiers a chance to visit the location of the programme. Its small in stature but makes a big impression.
Great location. Close to Arklow & Wicklow Town. Great base to visit Avondale Estate and explore Wicklow. Beautiful scenery and lots of great places to eat out in Wicklow town. A visit to Wicklow Gaol is a must.
We visited Glendalough and hiked through some of the trails to the very scenic lakes and waterfall. A car is the best way to get around Avoca to see the sights. We had a delicious bowl of seafood chowder in the pub at the Wooden Bridge Hotel. Avoca is a lovely place to visit.
A stunning area with lots to explore. The Avoca Mill is a must. We loved Glendalough and also the Greenan Maze. The Motte stone provides stunning views of the area, but it was a challenge to find! The nearby Killmacurragh Gardens were lovely too.
Was a short stay during a trip mainly to the NW200. Good base for the wicklow hills and the Arklow - Wicklow coast, and a day in Dublin on the train from Rathdrum. Avoca vale is pleasant for walking, and is on lots of itinaries still as its use as the location for Ballykissangel.
It was where I was born, the village has a warm environment, and a history having been the scene of the TV series Ballykissangel, but also where Thomas Moore sat and wrote poetry at The Meetings of the Waters. The Valley is also very beautiful with stunning views.
The friendly staff and great setting overlooking the rivers.
