A 15-minute drive from Cork Airport and city center, Oriel House Hotel has a pool, restaurant and bar. The rooms have flat-screen TVs and free Wi-Fi. Location good for Blarney and Cork. Hotel beautiful and to an excellent standard. Food was very good. Staff very friendly and helpful. Bed comfortable and room spotless. Air conditioning which worked properly. Good sized car park.
We loved the castle and grounds. We could have spent many more hours wandering the grounds and trails. We were there in winter and it was still a treat and very beautiful. The village is quaint and conveniently close to Cork, just a quick bus ride. In Blarney you just walk to the Castle grounds, get your tickets online ahead of time and save 2 Euro a ticket. The pub at Muskerry was great for a pint and food.
Wish I could have stayed longer but only there for business. So much to do beyond "the stone" and delightfully friendly locals. I would have loved to walk the miles of trails with a dog next time! Neat and tidy town... and next visit, I'll take the time to see the castle and gardens as well.
I’ve been to the castle twice now. Once in July with queues for days. This time, we were able to walk up to the stone on our own time. I also stayed at O’Connors Muskerry Arms (within walking distance of the grounds), highly recommend.
We didn't think we'd stay as long as we did at Blarney Castle. The walk up to the stone was pretty interesting (travel light, steep, small steps, narrow) and the stone is harder to reach than we expected. The grounds were where we spent most of our time. There is much to see and enjoy.
Lovely little village with some fine dining restaurants and bars. great holiday atmosphere and people very friendly. Blarney Woolen Mills is an interesting shop with lovely items of clothing and a very nice cafe and bar.
Love Blarney, slowed down pace of life with magical pieces of history tying old with new beautifully. Food, drink and "the craic" has to be experienced. It's narrow and the slow pace allows traffic to move around. Blarney Woollen Mills new neighbour EMF gym is also worth a trip, you will work off or laugh off the delicious food in the huge selection of restaurants. Eoin there and the other lads made us feel special when we just popped in unannounced. Thank you
