Silken Thomas offers accommodations in the center of Kildare Town. Located just off the M7 motorway, the Silken Thomas Accommodations is less than a 10 minute walk from Kildare Village Chic Outlet... Good bar downstairs and nice little town for walking around
Located in the heart of Kildare town, Kildare House Hotel is just a 5-minute walk to the pedestrian entrance of Kildare Village Outlet Shopping and a 5-minute drive to the Curragh Racecourse, National... The Breakfast was excellent and the location perfect and the staff were very friendly
Located in Kildare, The Rooms at Cunningham's has a bar. This property is located a short distance from attractions such as Kildare Town Heritage Center. Absolutely a beautiful room I could not have asked for more Rachel our contact person could not have done anything more to improve our stay. (thank you)
The Thatchers Cottage Kildare in Kildare provides accommodations with free WiFi, 5 miles from Kildare Town Heritage Centre, 5 miles from Japanese Gardens and 5 miles from St. Fiachra's Gardens. Thatcher’s Cottage surpassed all our expectations (family of four from upstate Ny; two teenage boys). Everything spoke of the reason why we visited Ireland. From Paul’s communication ahead of time, to John’s stories of the history of the cottage and area, to the pub and grocery and soccer field within walking distance of our home was perfect. If you want to give up the present and travel back to a simpler time where then Thatchers is the place. We stayed three nights and never slept better or felt closer as a family.
Located in Kildare, 24 miles from Kildare Town Heritage Centre, and Irish National Stud reachable within 26 miles, ROYAL OAK HOUSE offers a shared lounge, a garden and free WiFi. The house was clean and the location is not too far from Dublin. It was very cheap so the value was great! They had 2 dogs which were lovely!
Located in Kildare, within 15 miles of Irish National Stud and 16 miles of Kildare Town Heritage Centre, North Lodge provides accommodations with a garden and free WiFi as well as free private parking... Breakfast was well prepared. Staff was friendly and welcoming.
Mill Race Bed & Breakfast is located in Athgarvan, 25 mi from Dublin. Free WiFi is provided throughout the property and free private parking is available on site. The rooms include a flat-screen TV. Room was very spacious. The bed was really comfortable.
Located within a 7-minute drive from Newbridge town and The Curragh Racecourse, Ridgewood Lodge features accommodations with free WiFi. The property is close to M7 and M9 motorways. When we got lost, Olive went to great lengths to guide us to the property, welcomed us with tea and cakes and ensured we settled in to her best suite. The paintings, photos, prints, furnishings and decor are worthy of the bygone big house era.
This was a visit to relatives. Lovely area, immediately rural once outside Dublin. Just a lovely area, just how most people would imagine rural/small town Ireland to be. Everyone is very helpful and friendly (even non family members). Stayed in B&B near the Curragh. Always happy to be here-except for the roads! First here in 1970, no change for the better (except for the new to me Motorway). Roads all have good surfaces, and there the good news ends. Driving on left side is not difficult, just pay attention. Narrow, poorly posted, high stone wall fences, deep culverts on both sides or walls immediately next to road-pick your poison). Don't blink or will you will miss historical markers (of which there are many) not to mention just the regular poorly marked road names/numbers and directions. Get the smallest car you can comfortably drive with automatic transmission-much more expensive but you need to keep both hands free. Having a human navigator is most useful and a navigation device (iPhone 8 with Google Maps was pretty useful). But having someone with you saves taking your eyes off road.
Kildare was a quaint little town and was our first stop of many on our 2 week trip to Ireland. If it wasn't for a family visit I most likely would not have planned a stop here. The Silken Thomas was a convenient location for staying and meeting family. The area is close by to the horse racing tracks.
Not great weather day, but we managed the Irish Stud and Japanese Garden. Had lunch and breakfast at the pub/restuarant across the street. Incredible meal and drinks at Cunningham's pub...worth a visit from any where. The "Rooms at Cunninghams" cannot be beat for quality, cleanliness and convenience. Would return in a heartbeat!
Beautiful area. Keep in mind that if you are staying here and not intending to drive, , Baeta helped us to get transportation arranged. We also took a bus from the Village shopping center to Dublin for the day. This green bus also comes back and forth from the airport. We were in town for a wedding and had beautiful weather but bring rain gear because we understand it usually rains alot. Wear comfortable shoes. If you get a chance the Japanese Gardens and National stud farm is worth the trip, There is a complimentary bus from the Village shopping center. At the Silken Thomas the staff was so nice . The food at Chapter 16 was excellent
Amazing little town with a great mix of everything! Loved the shops, juice bar, coffee in town at Square was amazing! I was able to get a vegan latte with coconut milk and it was divine! Also as a vegan I had options for food and sweets! Even vegan donuts in the outlet shops! I did not have one but they looked delicious! I also loved the little metaphysical store in town. I purchased a few items! The Irish Thoroughbred farm and Japanese Gardens were stunning! We went in May so there were many new foals grazing with their mamas!
There are loads of historical things to see! St Brigid’s Cathedral, the White, Grey, and Black Abbeys, and St Brigid’s Well. You can walk to all of them and it’s lovely scenery. The Heritage Centre right down from the Silken Thomas is fun and helpful for souvenirs and gives info and maps to to see some ruins!

The location is perfect. It's within walking distance of all the town historical sites. Flanigan's Lounge is on the premises for food and drink. Everyone on staff that we had contact with, went out of their way to help us. We've never met such a friendly group!

Room was decorated lovely with high end finish and quality bed linen and bath towels. Absolutely spotless and right in centre of town, 5 minute drive to Kildare Village. Staff were extremely nice and food in Cunningham's pub was really nice.

It met our needs for a place to sleep after a late family event in Co Kildare and an early start back to Mayo in the morning.
