The property was exceptional!had absolutely everything we needed, iron, toaster, fridge, ensuite, kettle, glasses, mugs. Beautiful serene setting. An added bonus is the pub across the road. Best meal for flavour and value we had in the whole Uk. Highly recommend this place. Ursula was a lively welcoming host and so helpful and obliging. On site free parking is an added bonus!!

The owner was amazing. She really made us feel at home. The room itself was very nice, nothing too fancy, but it had everything and the beds were comfy.

Anne Marie, the landlady is absolute gold. She made the stay in Portumna the best part of the short vacation! Here is a few (but not all) of the best bits; we mentioned a concert at a pub miles away, she did not point at a map and give us the number to a taxi-SHE HOPPED IN THE CAR AND DROVE US THERE HERSELF!, we wanted to take a morning stroll in the forest one morning and she said we could join her, now, she is an actual ecologist so "a walk in the woods" turned into a masterclass in nature. I know more of Irish forest's ecosystem than I do about my own back yard. It turns out "rural Ireland" is a lot more interesting when you have a professional "tree-whisperer" with you. We could go on. ..and we will; Anne Marie is a one-woman welcome committee for Portumna, her generosity is unmatched, and her passion for the land is infectious. The house itself is newly renovated and has everything you want for rural Ireland, spotless, cozy with a history and fully equipped with all you need.

My girlfriend and I spent one night at this glamping and the experience was amazing. From the moment we arrived, the service was excellent, we were welcomed very warmly and given a map with clear explanations and recommendations of places to visit, which was a really nice touch We were sad to stay only one night, we would have loved to spend more time there so we will definitely be coming back :)

The host was really lovely and very helpful with local info..best value for dining out, for traditional live music, for things to see and do. Attention to detail was exceptional and welcoming. Loved it the second we stepped into the accommodation. Loved Dolores too.
