This is, hands down, the best hostel room I've ever stayed in. The hotel is beautiful and the location is otherworldly (see below RE scooter). The bed was incredibly comfortable, and everywhere was spotlessly clean. And I don't think I've ever mentioned the shower before in a review but I think it's the best shower I've ever had, anywhere in the world. The pool overlooking the estate is unbelievably picturesque, and the location - the sounds of the jungle whilst sitting on the balcony - is insane. The staff, too, were really very friendly, and very kind - they let me stay way past check out time to use the pool. The breakfast was a delicious array of South Indian foods. In sum, outstanding - and the value for money is exceptionally good. RE location: For me, it was perfect because it was out of the city, and incredibly quiet - an almost retreat. But I think you really need to hire a scooter or vehicle if you're going to stay here. There's nothing around the hotel/hostel, so you need to go into Chikmangaluru to eat etc. but this was fine for me, as I'd hired a scooter before arriving.

We were looked after very well. The family helped us book taxis and make recommendations. The food was lovely and they made us feel very welcome. The location is very peaceful and you will get a sense of indias wonderful biodiversity here with all the bird and insect noises, and the different plants and trees etc. Facilities are modest and clean. Very friendly and sweet dogs as well. that are owned by the home stay. Would not hesitate to stay again.

We had a truly wonderful experience. The food was awesome, particularly the dinner, and the coffee was great. We also enjoyed the breakfast served before checkout. ​The host was incredibly friendly and provided excellent hospitality throughout our stay. ​The location is great and easy to locate. Situated on a massive 30-acre estate, the property offers a great natural ambience and atmosphere. ​As a wonderful bonus, a complementary bonfire was offered. Note: Lunch is not served on-site, but there are more than enough great dining options available around the area.
