My wife and I both studied in Mumbai at some point in our lives and it's always a pleasure to come back to this city and frequent some of our favourite haunts and meet family and friends. The variety of eating joints and the range of shopping options to fit different wallets is unparalleled! This city has a certain charm that only people who have lived here will understand and relate to - not all of it can be explained in words!
This was my first time to Mumbai. It really was quite a shock to my senses. The street noise level was the highest I have ever heard. There were lots of market stalls and food vendors we found a couple of nice restaurants. If you are prepared mentally for Mumbai it can be quite eye opening. Be prepared to be in the moment as the traffic is fast and furious and the streets are broken and uneven with holes all over. It’s not somewhere I would go back to, once seen always remembered.
Mumbai is full of energy - you find so many people moving around - eating, shopping, travelling - enjoying till quite late in evening / night. Plenty of nice street food is available almost everywhere - on streets, railway stations, restaurants. Thanks to Mumbai local (the normal slow / fast / AC options) - it is cheap, fast & frequent. By & large people are nice & helpful too.
Busy city. It's better than when I visited 8 years ago. Noticed the indigenes have reduced spitting drastically. Makes the city look nicer. Great street food. You can easily get a cab to your destination. But ensure it's metered. The drivers love to cheat strangers. I don't think cheating is specific to the drivers, even the traders do same. A newbie is a gold mine.
Its a crowded city for one . some areas very much others less so , also it depends on the time like office hour, weekdays etc . best is to take a car rental from the hotel itself and get advance information from the hotel staff about the place you wish to visit if you are a first time visitor ....this is INDIA!! .... so get ready to have your 6 senses blasted with a riot of color, sounds, smells and if you please myriad tastes of the cuisines...its a great experience in all
I love Mumbai, we stayed at JW MARRIOTT SAHAR the last time and we had a SUPERB Experience and I highly recommended that Hotel! BUT, I don't recommend the FAIRFIELD by MARRIOTT Mumbai to anyone since they have RUDE Front Desk Staff and having a Wifi Room Connection Problem... RUDE.. RUDE.. RUDE Staff!!!
The location is perfect and the staff are very helpful. It was the cheapest option we could find in Mumbai and it’s as we expected. We then wanted to stay in Mumbai because we loved it so much so we upgraded to one of the rooms on the front which were more expensive but a lot nicer as you got some natural light and a small balcony space. The hotel was really lovely and when you take the stairs instead of the lift you can peer into all the kitchens and there is a lot going on - which I like in a hotel. It feels like it has some personality.
The seaside position and central location on Marine Drive is the main reason to stay here. need a Seaview room to take advantage of the views. Otherwise the hotel is "Okay" - 4 star not 5 star. Decor and condition of fittings is dated and worn in some places. beds are only Queen size. Internet is limited to 2 devices otherwise have to pay extra. Overall it is a reasonable option but do not expect perfection. Staff in breakfast restaurant very attentive (Priyal).
This property is in a crowded , dirty , filthy area near to slum dwellers. The entire area and its atmosphere is pathetic.I have been to mumbai many times but this area and the property is by far the worst.Property is not listed here in booking.com with real pictures of the area, rooms, staffs ,toilets etc…They are fooling the innocent customers and looting money..Don’t book this type of hotels. They might not also be safe for women travellers..Terrible experience
From the moment you drive into this 5 star hotel you are welcomed with love and a smile. I cannot thank each staff member enough for their amazing service and attention to detail for each customer. They go out of their way to attend to their customers wishes. Thank you to the whole Trident team at Nariman Point for your amazing customer service. I will definitely be back and recommend anyone going to Mumbai to stay with you only.
Very nice modern Hotel shortly north of the airport although it may take 10-30 minutes to the terminal building depending on the traffic. As the airport is in the middle of modern Mumbai, most places can be reached in 30-60 minutes by taxi or Uber. The facilities are great, superb breakfast, nice pool overlooking Mumbai, good gym and large spacious rooms which would be junior suites in other hotels.
Breakfast was not very good i ordered idli and the test was wired I just left it as it is. The bed has a very kriky noise which is not expected in 5 star hotel. There was a difference in the amount I booked for and I got charged for which is also not acceptable being a five star hotel. I stayed in Hilton many times but this was the worst experience I had.
kind and friendly staff. received me with a happy smile right from the moment I arrived. Room was small but clean and organised. Location is super good. so well connected. It’s not a big, 5 star hotel after all, but you could see they did their best to keep the room clean and presentable. Very hardworking, dedicated staff.
Perfect location close to the airport when you have a flight early morning. New hotel, small rooms but perfectly equipped and clean. Very comfortable bed and bed linen prefectly clean. Young and caring staff. Excellent value, rare in Mumbai.
Beautiful hotel rooms, great views, clean and impeccable. We loved the rooftop restaurant and the wonderful South Indian breakfasts. The staff were amazingly helpful and assisted us with many aspects of vacation planning and getting settled.
There is nothing to like as hotel have very small and in smoking corner outside no ashtray provided every body throwing cigarette butts on ground in that corner realyy pathetic it can not have 5 start grade at all
I have been staying here for the past 7 years, despite having options to stay at the most luxurious 5 star Hotels in the Fort area the Residency is my #1 choice! The staff are like family the location is superb.
4 star hotel but service is like 5 star Excellent services in all areas from check in to check out and will sure stay here in my next trip to Mumbai
Best hotel near airport suitable price for couples rooms and service was great.Front office coordination amazing.
