Embark on an authentic Indian joyride into mad Mumbai’s chaotic streets with its revving rickshaws, bustling bazaars, timeless temples and colonial history. This melting pot of Indian culture features a mix of rich Bollywood wannabes and the city’s slum dwellers, all residing together in India’s most populous city.
South Mumbai is a useful starting point with the symbolic Gateway of India in Colaba welcoming local Marathis and tourists alike. Opposite is the impressive Taj Mahal Palace & Tower Hotel. The Art Deco Regal Cinema underlines Mumbai’s colonial heritage.
A top Indian curry comprises key ingredients and your Mumbai experience should also include a menu of fashion, film and nightlife. Leopold Café is a place to be seen and there are many other chic bars and clubs. You can do a Bollywood tour where you can even feature as an extra in a film!
During the day, take a trip by ferry to the Elephanta Island with its caves and then spend the evening people watching on Chowpatty Beach in the south or Juhu Beach in the west.
Booking.com has hotels in Adheri in the west, around the fort and train station in the south or nearby central Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport, amongst many others.
Since I have been a regular visitor of Mumbai. So, there was nothing new for my review of Mumbai trip. However , as of my personal opinion , I really like Mumbai very much. Wandering alongside the Marine Drive and for a bite of Mumbai's Badapaav and also of Mumbai's street food. The flow of local trains covering most areas of Mumbai are worth most appreciable.
The people in Mumbai are very friendly. But it can be very confronting to come face to face with beggars who do not take no for an answer; traffic that ignores every rule .... if there were any and a cultural difference that smacks you in the face!! Some of the world's richest people seem to live comfortably next door to some of the world's poorest people.
As European person, it was a mind blowing experience. Mumbai is the 2nd most populated city in the world and you can feel it. But it's also magical with a mix of development, old art/architecture from Indian and Colonial culture, and modernity. Must see points: The Gateway of India, The Taj Mahal Palace Hotel, Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus Train Station, Crawford Market, Dhobi Ghat, Mahatma Gandhi's residence, Marine Drive.
There is so much to see and do. I plan on returning for pleasure next time to see the archaeological and historical sights and museums. I also wish to time my visit to join in the celebrations for Ganesh....what a joyous and exciting celebration that will be. With the imminent transort improvements it will be much easier to get around the city. As a solo traveller I felt safe.
Mumbai, also Bombay, is a remarkable city that never sleeps. You will find slums and poverty at one end, and high rises and wealth at the other. The Gateway of Indian, the Hanging Garden, the Boot House, the Beaches, and the Marine Drive are some of the most popular spots to check out. Eating in Bombay is a very satisfying experience. You can find food of all types and tastes, from cheap to expensive. It is remarkably effortless to navigate Bombay, as there are ample options for public transportation, including city buses, taxis, local trains, and metros. You can even find two-wheeled excursions. However, as with any other location, it is inevitable that one may encounter undesirable individuals and areas. Please exercise extreme caution before entering an unknown locality or lane. If in doubt, it is advisable to seek the assistance of the traffic police, and in the event of an emergency, it is advisable to contact the 112 helpline number.
You might find that Elephanta island is not so interesting and that the trip turns out to be quite expensive. A day trip to the Pagoda on an Island near Borivalis is very cheap if done by public transport, and the Pagoda is STUNNING. At no extra cost you can jump off to see the Dhobi Ghat on the way and maybe jump of the train at Chowpatty beach for sunset on your way back.
Very Professional Staffs! Hotel is in the very good location near Airport! I like the sustainability which they follow! Recycling water, no smoking sign , also signs which mentioned about sustainibility! Keeping good standared!! Well done to the team! Also restaurant citrus team is amazing especially hostess i dont remember her name! She was making sure we are happy with breakfast! Asking satisfaction!! Breakfast varieties was very good!! I really appreciate the GM if this property keeping the best standared to the guests!
Location is perfect for shopping and site seeing. Close to airport and blessed, the hotel sent a brand new suv airport pickup. Absolutely marvelous breakfast. Everything was fresh ND piping hot. So many varieties and each excelled in taste and freshness! Can only think of 1 flaw in the shower area where water gets clogged after every shower. The bathroom slope is not qwll planned for drainage. But it's manageable. It is a beautiful luxurious hotel and we really enjoyed with family!!!! Worth the money!!!
The location was excellent, right near the Gateway to India, the Taj Hotel and all of the interesting sites in Southern Mumbai. The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. Water pressure was good. Hot water available 24 hours. The room was quiet enough, despite being near a busy, two-lane road. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Ask for money exchange. They called a gentleman who gave a good rate. Breakfast was OK: standard masala omelet and drinkable coffee, enough to line the stomach.
The staff at Royal Orchid are courteous, professional and helpful. The room was spacious and clean. The wash room was clean. Food from the in-house restaurant was good. The complimentary buffet breakfast was good. Samuel at the buffet breakfast and Mitali at the reception were pleasant, efficient and helpful. The hotel has a central location. The room tariff is very reasonable. Overall, the Royal Orchid Hotel, Chembur, offers great value for money.
Aside from my many complaints about Sea Palace Hotel, the location is perfect. I think this is why this place still exists. It is perhaps the nicest place in Mumbai, and many locals told us it is in one of the most expensive parts of Mumbai. There are many nice cafes and restaurants around, and one can walk to the Taj Hotel and the Gateway of India.
The Taj Mahal Mumbai is probably one of the nicest hotels we’ve ever stayed in. The hotel itself is steeped in history. The staff is incredible. The breakfast buffet included in our reservation was wonderful and the variety of other restaurants in the hotel are also quite good. Unfortunately due to Covid the pool was closed. This hotel gets 5 stars.
The best 5 star hotel in Mumbai. Everything is perfect in terms of staff, cleanliness, ambience, rooms, food etc. Also, the housekeeping is also so friendly and cooperative. The experience was just seamless from check-in to check out. They had also planned a mini surprise for my birthday, which put in an extra smile on my face.
Mumbai
Helpful staff, comfortable rooms and all amenities were in place. Stayed in a double room. Zostel is well known as the place to stay with big groups and in dorms... it is also great for solo female travelers to mumbai who like the privacy of separate rooms, but want to avoid uncertainties of non 5 star hotels.
It was my dream to stay one night at St Regies n that came true...It's lavishing n glamourous with the marvellous ambience.....such an amazing n cooperative staff members n also the rooms are like so Spacious .....Best 5 Star hotel in Mumbai .....surely will visit soon again .
Santacruz, Mumbai
Great Location, not very far from airport and best of all, the staff were topnotch! The price is worth it for the quality of stay. Aparna and Kushal (I hope I spelled their names right), and everyone else made my stay feel like home. Definately recommended!!
The breakfast and dinner buffet of this hotel is up there with the best of mumbai!! It was amazing! Large and great options of delicious food. The rooms are nice. The service was great. Thank you akshay for youre great service. Keep up the great work.
Staffs are super helpful, great customer service, food I fell little bit low compared to other 5 star hotels. Rest all are a1 class. House keeping, front office, bell desk, room service. Kudos keep doing good work.
+Proximity to the airport makes it an ideal pitstop if you have to stopover in Mumbai for a night between flights +Hotel Pick up and drop from the airport + Breakfast for $7 per night is also a good value
This is one of the best place to stay in anderi and even near to the Mumbai airport. It is a boutique hotel with excellent breakfast and superb service. The stay was excellent and total value for moeny.
Staff were polite and super friendly. Service is top notch🌟. It's located right next to US consulate, Best hotel for US visa appointments.
Very nice airport hotel, fantastic rooftop pool with an excellent breakfast selection. The staff were all excellent
Nice hotel to stay in Mumbai close to the airport, but far from downtown.
