It's a good place, but far from the airport, one and half hour taxi ride. There's a good hotel, Grand Canyon, better than Hotel Pennakal. Rooms of Hotel Pennakal very small, congested to walk around. Too many mosquitoes. Hotel is upstairs, very steep.

It is an interesting place to visit.
It was terrible to use the ATM at Fort. I tried7 (!) of them. None could give money! Or they were out of charge or money. Or they didn’t gove money to an jnternational card. It costed me two hours, a lot of stress. And still no money

Cochin is a must see destination in Kerala in which you must spend at least two nights & three days to take in the sights & sounds of this coastal city .
You can divide it into two parts , one day to visit Fort Cochin & see the Jewish synagogue, Dutch palace , Jew street , Chinese fishing nets & also stay at the 8th Bastion of the CGH Earth Hotel group !
Next day you could stay at the Taj Vivanta in Ernakulam & go for a walk along the marine drive & do your shopping & go for a ride into the sea in one of the many boats that line up by the side of the walkway to the water metro station from where you could take a short 20 minutes ride into Fort Cochin as well .

Kochi is a great place to spend 4-7 days.
Kochi is a great place to spend 4-7 days. It is a central location from where you can do day trips to nearby attractions. There are lots of museums in, around and near cochin. We loved the Kerala folklore museum in a nearby town (Thevara), and the hilltop palace museum. Jewtown and Matancherry (jain temple and palace) are a must visit and are less than a 10-minute ride from anywhere in Kochi. You can do a backwaters day trip to vayakom from Kochi. Lots of temples to visit and great local cuisine to try. Bike rentals on every street. The best part of Kochi that you should definitely visit is the cultural center where they have daily kathakali, kalari payattu and classical music/dance performances! I only wish the municipality would do a better job of clearing trash and maintaining basic levels of cleanliness on the streets! It is sad how the municipality of such a beautiful gem of a city is just letting stinky ugly trash pile up everywhere including right in front of the cultural center!!!!

Hot in April. Never been in such a hot, humid place.
Hot in April. Never been in such a hot, humid place. Would go outside, do whatever I went out to do then back inside to lie under the fan. Heat rash turned to bumps and cuts. Light, cotton kurta would be wet by the time I returned.
Ayurvedic massage, a coffee shop, walk to the beach, buy clothes. There are things to do if you look. In an ancient spice trading Capitol, breakfast was varied, then it was too hot to eat.

Our Superior-room was comfortable, highly equipped and gave us a sense of well- being. Windows with good noise protection.
For breakfast there was a rich buffet with both tasty indian and continental food. Fresh Juice and fruits completed the offer. Reasonable restaurant on the ground floor.

Everything. One of the best hotels in India: wonderfull staff, great amenities, clean and confortable room, delicious restaurants, etc.
The trip to Kochi is worthy just for staying in this hotel. Congratulations to the manager
Overall, though short, the stay was comfortable. A new property, keenly built in the midst of nature, yet near airport. Seems to be a startup, the staff is really helpful. All the best to the team.
