To me the experience is unique. Old Hampi with its Old World ruins took me to a different era and the experience was lovely. New Hampi with the hills coracle ride and lush greenery gives a totally different experience. One must take iy
Staying on the north bank of Tungabadra makes one travel a lot to cross the river and reach Hampi. It would be good if you plan your stay on the south bank. The temples and other sites are close by when you stay south of the river. However, there are fewer options to stay in the south bank.
Hampi is all about the past glories that have culminated into as 'India's Glorious past'. Hampi takes you back to that period of India when this kingdom shone out as the brightest. Each structure has an exciting story of its own.
one must keep atleast 3 full days to see hampi at ease and and cover all sites worth seeing, there is a lot of walk so be ready with comfortable walking shoes, a bottle of water and a packet of biscuit, coconut water is available everywhere so have atleast 3-4 times and it will hydrate you instantly.
We had one day to visit the many sites in Hampi, so hired a guide we found him knowledgeable and friendly. However, we should have given ourselves more time. If we were to come again we'd stay for longer, 2 or 3 days.
Wonderful place to see and understand the golden era of Vijayanagar Empire, which was once the richest empire in the world. The ruins tell a lot of stories. There are so mysterious marvels in all the temples and the carving viz, the musical stone pillars, the inverted shadow of the Gopuram without any glass etc., Hampi is a vast open museum of history, architecture and religion.

The hotel person took another booking and didn’t provide me accommodation.. i was roaming in the whole hampi for stay… I want to make a complaint to booking.com despite of having confirmed booking i was denied stay.. the other hotel provided by the incharge of padma villa charged me very high i.e Rs. 3500/- with a reason of pick season…i have wasted my money and energy in search of stay.. I want compensation for this..A lot of stress and agony.. We were roaming with out luggage in the whole hampi but couldn’t find a place to stay.

The hosts were extremely friendly and I really loved their hospitality. Mr. Ramu, though wasn't available at the property on the day we traveled, made sure we received his best wishes and a comfortable stay. It was also great that he advised on a couple of places to visit and activities to check out, whilst in Hampi. The food cooked by their cook tastes really good compared to most other cafes in the locality. We actually had 3 of our 6 meals at the guesthouse itself. Definitely recommend the place and will stay again

The location was a little out of the way, we loved it (but others may not). The owners of property were attentive, friendly and just beautiful people. The property offer free collection even early in morning, the rickshaw driver is then available for your stay. Brilliant guide (but would suggest you agree daily price before setting out) The smart TV.... Top idea... In the living area. Great place to stay if you want to see Hampi

It's nice to stay in the old Hampi village and being surrounded by real village life. This guesthouse has nice rooms, clean and comfy. Bathroom is spacious, good shower. AC works well and quiet, there is also a fan. The upstairs restaurant is pleasant and the manager is up early.
The room was very good. The breakfast was ok. The location was not convenient for sightseeing in Hampi (more than 1 hour drive away), but the township in which the hotel is located is lovely - very nice indeed and well worth a half days exploration.
Hampi
The location was very central, right in the old bazaar of Hampi, but still quiet. The staff was super helpful and kind, and the breakfast delicious. They even helped us with a driver and a guided tour of the sites.
