The imposing Himalayan mountains that surround it, the people in it - Tibetans, Indians, Kashmiris, are pleasant and put a smile on your face, the excellent food, the villages, monasteries and landscapes in its surroundings, make Leh a magical place where there is always more to discover in and around it. Hot and dry.. expensive and not so good food. Taxi union charge more than the appropriate charge for the tour. Poor bus connectivity. Pangong is nice. Diskit and hunder was fine. I would recommend going to pangong, for me Himachal is a better option.PoonamIndia - Scored 1010

Leh is cold throughout the year. That is the basic point we to remember. And at a altitude with its associated problems. Otherwise it is great holiday spot. So much to see. A definite must to visit many times.

Most visitors to Leh prefer to stay longer to tour the valleys nearby. We went during the off-season and the main reason was to get away from the Delhi chaos over a weekend. So Leh served its purpose for us. The main market area has good cafes, restaurants and shops. Shanti Stupa is also present in Leh. Good vibes nothing less. Leh has a large Indian Army presence so we felt very safe and secure :)
