This is a quaint attempt to replicated a tribal house with earthen walls , rough finish and Dung floors outside on the balcony and its a nice change from the usual concrete. Amenities are upto date and clean with wrt the washrooms and in room facilities like a kettle and supply of tea coffee . 2 cottages are airconditioned and the one to go for ideally. They have dormitory sleeping and a large family room on offer. Food is home cooked and vegetarian. Ideal to have own transport as its a bit outside the main hustle and bustle. The night sound and light show is not to be missed and good idea is to get a guide to show you the sites . Great for a one nights stay with a day spent exploring before moving onto Maheshwar.

The sound and light show is one not to be missed in the evening near the Jahaz Mahal. At 180 rupees for Indians and Rs 300 for non Indian nationals its really worth it for the 25 minutes. Its a good intro into the history of Mandav/Mandu and what you may want to explore the next day There is a lot of history and a lot of sites to visit which are really well maintained - so plan for a day with a local guide who can take you around starting as early as 7 am as the sites open by then

I feel people should check in before 11 AM

I feel people should check in before 11 AM and see Mandu as a whole on the first day including light and sound show. Next day, after breakfast they should hire a car and go to Maheshwar, Omkareshwar and reach Indore by evening to see the Rajvara and light and sound show there. Don't visit only for Mandu.

There is really a lot to see, and many of the free ruins are just as magnificent as the ones you pay for. Mandu has the potential to become a big hit for travellers if just the food situation improved, read rooftop terraces etc.
