Stayed at a delightful BnB. Owners listed some wonderful adventures in the small villages for me. I had transportation and it was wonderful. Got to eat at a small Italian family style restaurant, started with champagne ended with espresso.
Albenga is a city and not what we were looking for, but it was on the Italian Riviera, where we wanted to explore. We spent most of our time in the Center City, the enclosed walls of the original town, and that was pleasant. Some great restaurants here, and a fabulous Beer Hall too! Located in the Center City, at Piazza delle Erbe 4. Can't find the name :( Bar area to order only and a few standing. Inside - didn't even dare look inside! Outdoor seating is lovely in the courtyard. Try the pizza next door - delicious (and they will bring it outside for you too). B-Side Bar is okay because you are on the beach... not much else for ambiance. Ristorante Lo Scoglio is on the water and romantic. Lovely food and service. Small. We were there on a Tues evening and only one other couple celebrating their anniversary was there. We stayed at Aia De Ma, a very nice complex with "condo" style accommodations. Four story units accommodating 2 condo's per floor. Very clean. lots of room. Full kitchen. 3 sided patio with hammock. Great views of the mountains and the ocean. (but not near the ocean). Very close to the Center City, food shopping, the weekly Market and cappuccino bars. Excellent and safe on street parking or in a lot adjacent to the buildings.
The sea is of course absolutely breathtaking but you can't miss the old town which is beautiful and filled with great places to eat, shopping and interesting sights. A nice walk across the river up to the old Roman ruins with incredible views is priceless. So much history in this lovely small city. Oh, the locals are some of the most friendly and warm people anywhere. We have to also mention a wonderful place we had lunch one day in the old part of town, Pizzeria La Bifora. We had an absolutely wonderful two hours not only eating but enjoying conversation with the wonderful family who runs this restaurant. Albenga is not overrun with tourists which makes it even more desirable. Well worth a trip for at least a night but you need more than that to really see what it has to offer.
Albenga is surely a nice place to stay, especially if you want to go to Le Caravelle water park without having to return home the same day. It has a beautiful walking esplanade just by the sea. Wouldn't recommend to get in the water, though.
I had to get the bus to Pieve di Teco and everyone I met was really helpful, telling me where to get the bus ticket, where the bus stop was etc. there is a lovely bar in the square which is very friendly everyone popping in for coffee and breakfast.

We had a wonderful stay. Andrea was an awesome host and made sure we had everything we needed. The pool was awesome and everyone was very friendly. There was a night with music and dancing that was really great. Albenga is close to larger cities like alassio and the residence is close to the beach, the center of town and lots of gelato. We will certainly come back next year! It is great for families as there were lots of kids but it was not crowded or noisy.

Beautiful location almost right on the sea. It was wonderful to walk over to a cafe on the beach at sunset! At the same time, it was only 10 minutes’ walk to Albenga’s old town. Parking was easy with a lot of free spaces on the surrounding streets! The hotel, unlike a lot of buildings on the sea, has character but is well maintained. Welcoming and friendly staff. Nice Italian-style breakfast in an attractive room.

Albenga is a beautiful medieaval town with few tourists. The B&B is in a very well maintained historic building. Our host Pietro was fabulous. He insisted on picking us up from the train station, and served us a great breakfast every morning, including home made cakes. Thank you so much for everything!

Beautiful old building meticulously maintained by the owners for several centuries. A real treasure and a welcome from a bygone age. Wonderful Operatic concert in the square outside the hotel was an unexpected added bonus. Albenga is a little island of culture on a coast filled with fast food and bling.

Very central location for the boulevard and central Albenga isn't far either. We managed to park our car on the street nearby (for free). The hotel is clean. Good the hotel had affordable single rooms. Simpel breakfast but fine. Bars/ restaurants nearby also in the hotel itself.
