If you are in Arezzo and you are looking for accommodation then consider this exquisite Bed and Breakfast, La Traccia. The rooms and their bathrooms are beautifully appointed, the elevator access is a plus, the chocolates on the bed are devine and the welcome by Paolo is outstanding. Breakfast is delicious. The thought of problem free parking in the middle of a medieval city is refreshing. This is a great find!
The city itself is like walking through history. We just had to follow the map we were provided with at the hotel. Everyone we met was helpful and talkative. The churches and museums were well presented and beautifully cared for. Dinner at L'Agania was fantastic.
Arezzo is a hidden gem, not on the big 3 circuit (Rome, Florence, Venice), but definitely worth any detour or extra planning needed to get there. It has a unique main square, and, in my opinion almost rivals that of Siena. If you like Siena, you will love Arezzo, as it still seems undiscovered. If you are a della Robbia fan, 4 spectacular altarpieces are on display in the cathedral. Also,it is the home of Giorgio Vasari and many of his works are on display there, not to mention his house as well as Petrarch's house. I don't think Arezzo Tourist Agency is very active because it does not seem to know the gems that it possesses; certainly, it does not promote them. That's a good thing for someone coming from hectic, overcrowded Florence. In fact, I highly recommend it as a "getaway" from Florence. It's a quiet, sleep town, great for wandering, lots of eating spots. I recommend Cavour 42: that's the name and the address. Try the thinly sliced roast beef covered with an anchovy sauce. I've never tasted roast beef like that before.
There are far more attractive and typical Tuscan towns than this one. It was crowded with traffic and teenagers, I wouldn’t recommend a visit - frescos or no frescos... One of the least friendly places that we have been in Italy. At a time of Covid-19 restrictions, you would think that mask wearing and social distancing would be the norm, you would be wrong. I did not feel safe.
Fantastic Tuscan town. Not the usual tourist trap kind of place that you get a lot in Tuscany. Beautiful antiques markets takes over the town every first Sunday of the month and it is worth going just for that even though there are lots more to see in Arezzo. The amazing fresco cycle by PIero della Francesca is also a must-see and it well organised and is free the first Sunday of the month. So it is a god excuse to see the frescoes and the market.
The perfect-sized town for a quiet get-away vacation, with lovely churches and neat, modern shops and restaurants! The architecture is interesting with medieval aspects. The countryside is gorgeous with rolling hills, beautiful houses and trees. The people in the town are friendly. The town is easily walk-able for people with strong knees and hips, but I don't recommend it for people with walking issues. The streets are all cobblestone, and you're either going uphill or downhill!
Arezzo
We started off our stay in Arezzo with it being a bit choppy. We had a hard time getting to the flat because there was a special event going on that blocked off the only Street to get to where we needed to go. Once we figured that out and turned the key, opened the door and were instantly transported into a different realm we were so excited! Our hosts knew we were struggling a bit and made a special trip to leave us a beautiful bottle of wine which we immediately imbided! We can’t say enough about how wonderful this space is on every level. It is completely well-equipped, architecturally gorgeous and feels spacious and romantic. We just loved the feeling of a space where you can feel how well the ancient artistry is preserved and yet it’s totally clean and well-equipped. When we come back to Arezzo we wouldn’t consider any place else.

Arezzo
Very welcoming, great hospitality, warm and excellent staff. We enjoyed the calmness of the surrounding, the Vineyard, and typical Toscany feeling. The evenings were very cool, lodgy and ambient. The room was comfortable and made with a lot of taste. The owners shared amazing stories about the place which made our experience very unique. We Highly recommend to taste the wine of the property! We would come back anytime!
Arezzo
Location was perfect, right in the centre. The room was basic but very clean and spacious with air con and everything we needed. Breakfast had everything you'd expect for an italian buffet and Gianfranco was kind enough to hold my baby while I ate!!! :) Accomodated us in every way from offering a banana to my baby while we waited to check in to finding space in the fridge for our shopping.
Arezzo
I hadn't breakfast because covid rules. Rooms are new and nice. The owner is very well organised and kind. Rooms are hell , clean , the location isn't charming but it's possible to walk to Arezzo historical centre. Near to supermarket and to the public indoor swimming pool
Arezzo
If there would be a higher score than 10 it would be applicable to this Castle. Staying at the castle puts you back in time, a period that was different to today. Exploring the castle seems like visiting a high-class museum. The owner Marco was very friendly.
Excellent location. Lovely staff. They made a mistake in the bill. When I pointed it out, they immediately corrected and gave me in cash the difference. Perfect stay for my purpose of visiting the antique market. Will definitely stay again!
