Encircled by expansive lush gardens and immersed in nature, this brand new 4-star hotel lies in the small historical village of Armeno and fuzes tradition with a host of modern amenities. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Answered all questions. If you can, visit the nearby lake (Lake Orta) for a swim or casual stroll. Scenery is amazing and the tourist-less streets are a nice break from Rome, etc.
Featuring a spacious garden, Rusall’s Cottage is located in Armeno, a little town 3.1 mi from Lake Orta and Sacro Monte Orta Natural Park. Public transport to Omegna is 656 feet away. My wife and I had four great days in Ugo's and Anna's house. The house has only two rooms for guests which adds to the privacy and comfort of the large house. Our room was spacious (about 5x5 meters) with two large windows, a large double bed and a big sofa. The garden and its surroundings are beautiful. The breakfast is simply outstanding, with freshly squeezed orange juice and everything you can imagine from fresh bread to ham, cheese, fresh fruit, yoghurt, etc., even eggs cooked the way you like them. Ugo and Anna are great hosts and were extremely helpful. We liked them very much. Ask them for travel tips or their favorite restaurants in town and they will gladly make reservations for you. Please note that the guest rooms have no TV and you need a car to get around.
Located in Armeno in the Piedmont region, Villa in Armeno has a patio and garden views. Everything was great. Villa and surroundings was very tidy, wonderful mountain views. There was everything we needed for cooking, firewood and coal for barbecue, umbrellas and so on. Ideal location for 4 adults and 4 children, but and we 8 adults felt comdortable. The town has everything you need, shops, pizzerias and bakeries. We didn't see the hosts, we got all the information via e-mail, there was no misunderstandings. The hosts had left a welcome basket with wine, pasta, oil, sauces. We highly recommend it.
Armeno itself is a bit of a sleeper village. As I come from a yoga retreat on the other side of the lake, it was a perfect stop for me to visit Lago D'orta. The accommodations were great... but there is not even a proper restaurant in the village. But good options are available with a short drive.
Armeno is lovely situated between Lago d'Orta and Lago di Magiore. Places to be seen in the near surrounding are Orta San Giulio, Omegna, Pella and Stresa. Milan is easy to be reached in a short time. We ate several times in restaurant Bocciolo, with a wonderful view on the lake.
