This is a beautiful and very walkable town and perfect for a short stay. All the piazzas are within walking distance, the terrain is flat (yay!) and there are excellent cafes and restaurants. Do not miss the Meletti cafe in Piazza del Popolo. Yes, they charge 5 Euros for a (large) glass of Verdicchio Brut, but it's some of the best bubbly we've had AND it is served with the very best free appetizers. Go at the end of the afternoon and do some people-watching as everyone arrives in the Piazza for their pre-dinner stroll.
Wonderful B&B wonderful loction, wonderful food, staff very kind ,loved the old town. Our timing was bad as it was difficult to hook up with a tour but did hook up with a very excellent private tout.Extreamly interesting and wonderful old city to just walk and explore. We would love to return and explore the surrounding towns although we did visit Offida ,a must see ancient town.
Ascoli dates back to 92 BC! The Romanesque buildings in the Centro Storico are made from Travertine marble and when you send your way through the back streets you feel you are in ancient times. There are many Romanesque churches with beautiful interiors. It is absolutely beautiful, walkable, with nice shops, restaurants and cafes. The Piazza Del Popolo is famous in Italy for its marble floor and archways. It is home to the city hall, the basilica and the legendary Caffe' Meletti.
Beautiful, compact little town in the hills. Easily walkable. You'll need a car to get there, so you might as well go off into the surrounding countryside. The big earthquake that demolished Amatrice didn't hit here as hard but the main tower was damaged.
The piazza di popolo is a great spot. Meletti's is a must for the local anisette. The piazza di arringo is gorgeous and the water from the horse fountains is some of the best water i have ever had.
The two beautiful piazzas alone are worth the trip, the `old town' (most of the town) fascinating and the views of the two rivers and surrounding mountains are enchanting. And it is not overrun by tourists like Venice... I enjoyed riding the little touring train with a bunch of kids,

This is THE place to stay if you are visiting Ascoli. Minutes from the historic centre, you have a spacious, comfortable place with air-con, wi-fi, a plentiful breakfast and coffee bar, parking and a friendly host. The location consists of two double bedrooms, one of which has ensuite bathroom. The B&B is located within a small gated area at the end of the street. Park through the gate (if open) and call host by phone to let you in. I look forward to coming again!

The radiators were on when we arrived, which was so welcome on a cool night. Hotel is recently remodeled and is charming. We love family-run operations and we loved the family who runs this hotel. We ended up eating supper there as well as breakfast because the "Mom" planned inviting traditional meals. Hiking or simply walking at the lake is so beautiful; this spot makes a good central location for Western Abruzzo.

Location right in the centre of this beautiful city, located in a lovely old building with a piazza that boasts 5 great places to eat, our room overlooked said piazza was large and warm and very comfortable, the family that own the property are very proud of their home, young Valerio looked after us on our short visit, we would definitely return.

The property is rural, and far removed from the city. On the one clear night, stars were amazingly bright! Being rural, it was very quiet at night, and in the morn8ng.....great for sleeping. The weather wasn’t great for enjoying the farm, but we really liked the region which we had not visited previously.

Fantastic home above Ascoli Piceno with great views of the city. A short walk down a stepped path leads to the centre of town - but beware the climb back up! Salvatore was a wonderful host and breakfast was abundant. Highly recommend.

Though the facility is excellent in many respects this is not a hotel but a rented apartment. Breakfast is in third party locations outside the premises, there is no lobby or bar, just a tin reception adjacent to the elevator.

This hotel is superb. The location and accommodations could not have been better. There is a spa on site and we were the only ones using the facilities. We highly recommend visiting Ascoli Piceno and staying at this hotel.
