We had a wonderful stay at ASILO in Barolo. The Apartment was very beautiful and big with a nice terrace overlooking the vineyards. There was Also a garden with a jacuzzi overlooking the beautiful surroundings. The Apartment was located in the centre of Barolo, with lots of nice restaurants within walking distance. Elisa was a wonderful host, she was there every day to help us with advice for good restaurants, wine tastings and she often made us cappucino with a sweet pastry. She Also brought us in contact with a nice wine maker who taught us a lot about the wines and Also loaned us electrical mountainbikes to Explore Barolo and the surrounding villages. Thank you so much for the Amazing time!

We are small time wine producers from a country further north and were amazed by the intensity of production, propserity and strong sense of tradition that the region repesents. There is an amazing concentration of Enoteca in the town although the active bars do not necessarily offer the best wines to taste. We have to critiscise the wine museum and tasting facility for offering us poor quality and. in the white wine case oxidised and poorly presented bottles. We recommend a trip to Novello where one should ask to for the Nascetta made white wine. Our overall impression of the regions wine is that only the higher priced Barolo's merit the distinction aforded to the region. The drinking wine from Dolcetto is not comparable to, say, French wine of the same price or, perhaps Montepulciano from Abruzzo at half the price. Also not over impressed by the Barbera wines. But there are also some excellent while wines, for example those of the Arneis vine. For sparkling wine enthusiasts ask for Alta Langhe, but avoid the over-priced Blanc de Blancs.

Be prepared to do a lot of walking either up or down hill.

Be prepared to do a lot of walking either up or down hill. We visited in November, and while there were still quite a lot of visitors it was not overcrowded and it was possible to get into the places of interest without long waits. If intending to take lunch or dinner at one of the many restaurants it is better to book in advance as the most popular ones seen to get quite busy.

Barolo is a famous and cute little italian village and the best vine on Earth (to me personally). :) We had a lovely walk around in this region with my husband on our latest visit and we loved its magical vineyard hills even more than the village itself. Because sadly the only downside (like with many similarly famous italian areas) is that it can become quiet busy and crowded with too many tourists and not so enjoyable if you prefer a more peaceful relaxing holiday like us. It is definitely worth to visit the village too, to grab an ice cream or an aperitivo but having long walks outside in its beautiful vineyard hills is a must have for a true and authentic Piemonte experience! :) It is very easy to get around in the vineyards of Barolo also by foot or by bike or scooters but would recommend to pay a visit not only in summer time but also during spring or autumn when its less crowded probably.

Barolo is a very pretty town surrounded by rolling hills and vineyards. We travelled by car and it was easy to visit lots of pretty towns in this beautiful region. Barolo offers a selection of restaurants and pizzeria offering very good food, service and of course great wines and everyone was very welcoming.

A perfect place to stay in the Piedmont region.

A perfect place to stay in the Piedmont region. We started in Asti & then Turin. Its great to get out of the city and see "real" Italy, garnished in grapes ready to harvest. I felt like I was in a fairy tale. Barolo was a great town to be in and biking was phenomenal there.

A wonderful place with an incredible host. We were welcomed so warmly, and there was a bottle of wine was waiting for us in the room. The wine tasting was included in the stay, which made the experience even more special. The view from the terrace overlooking Barolo was absolutely stunning, and the hospitality was truly exceptional. We will definitely be coming back. The town center is only a 10-minute walk away, and there are plenty of wineries and activities nearby for every taste.

Spacious apartment. Very well equipped. Connection with the agents were spot on. Daniela was highly helpful. Location is Top of the Pops, 15 meters from Le Vite Turchese, the best enoteca around Barolo MGA’s and 100 meters from the Castello and restaurants. 9.8⭐️ out of 10⭐️
