Hotel in Benevento
Just 164 feet from Trajan's archway in Benevento, Hotel Traiano is an elegant, early 20th-century villa with its own gardens. The hotel's roof garden offers panoramic views. The hotel was in a great location. It was clean and very well cared for. The breakfast was wonderful and I would highly recommend it. The staff was very helpful answering any questions we had during our stay.
Hotel in Benevento
Located in Benevento, 2.1 mi from Ciro Vigorito Stadium, Albergo Della Corte features a bar and views of the city. I had to spend two weeks in my room for my isolation period, and the two brothers whom own the hotel have been incredibly supportive with anything I needed. They always brought me the food delivered to me instead of making me go downstairs to pick it up. After a week they arranged to have me by myself in the breakfast room (with mask on of course!) while they were cleaning the room and changing sheets and towels. Again, absolutely amazing people!

Located opposite Trajan’s Arch, B&B Domus Traiani Benevento is in a central yet quiet area of Benevento. Our rooms were very comfortable and particularly spacious; in fact a joy in which to stay because of the excellent facilities. The B&B is ideally located close to the old city centre. Of particular use were the allocated parking spaces outside the property, which took away the parking problem.

Lots to explore in a small historical center. Not to be missed: the Roman amphitheater, the Cathedral and crypt (bombed in WWII and reconstructed during which they excavated and found ancient buildings), St. Sophia an 8th century church), Arco Museo - contemporary exhibit and goddess Isis artifacts, and arch of Trajan. The main road provides a nice place to walk and stop for a drink and watch the parade of humanity pass by. Also note the recycling of building materials. The city was sacked many times and they just reused what they could find.
Ok, the tourism board for this town deserves some kind of an award. When looking for a "last stop" on our Italian holiday, Benevento looked like a charming town with Roman ruins a couple hours out of of Rome. While accurate, the town was the least inviting and most dirty of any we visited in our 10 days in Italy. The ruins are just that...ruins. Not well preserved or restored nor in a particularly nice part of town. Benevento sucked us in, but I would recommend others to skip this stop. That said, we did find a gem of a resturant...make sure you visit Locanda Scialapopolo....fantastic food and awesome hosts....felt like eating in your grandma's kitchen!!
Benevento is a very walkable city- great Mountain View’s. Your banks need to offer trading dollars for euros. Instead I was told to go to post office central. I have no car & have to walk or pay taxi. Banks are all about $$ - post offices are not!
Benevento - off the tourist trail, Very worthwhile visit for a couple of nights. Historic Arch and Lombard church built on roman remains as well as the roman amphitheatre well worth visiting as are several churches. Lose oneself in the side streets and search for eating places. - they are there to be found! Very helpful ladies at the Information Centre.
Lovely roman arch and Duomo. Nice and compact town. Lot of nice restaurants very reasonably priced. It is the home of Strega so lots of Strega cocktails! It is a good place to stop en route (as we did).
Benevento is a real gem, exceeding all my expectations. The people are lovely and the food is to die for! It is a beautiful old town which has much to offer and it is also well located if you wish to use it as your base to explore neighbouring towns. A beautiful part of Italy with much to offer.
The rooms were clean. Helpful staff. Very close to station.
