The house is located in a country side, surrounded by wineyards and olive trees, on a hill, with a very picturesque view. There is a large free parking lot close to the house. The apartments were clean and spacious, very authentic. The host was great in communications, they also produce and cell the local wine and olive oil. We found a bottle of wine as a welcome on the desk.
Located 0.9 mi from Certaldo Train Station, Osteria Del Vicario offers a garden, free Wi-Fi and a restaurant service. The private bathroom features free toiletries and hairdryer.

My daughter and I had to travel to Certaldo for a concert, an we found this lovely inn to stay at. We had such a comfortable stay, and the price was so reasonable. Our room was comfortable and had everything we needed. The bed, in particular, was very comfy. The only thing missing was air conditioning, but that wasn't a problem for us. We know that you can't have everything when you want to stay in a beautiful, historic building. The outside dining area was beautiful with a fantastic view, and the breakfast was great. Freshly baked croissants, fresh fruit, coffee, juice and water. The staff was friendly and courteous. I would definitely come back if I were in the area.

Oh wow!!!! We haven't the words to say how very much we enjoyed our stay at Villa Hamburg. Leaving was ever so difficult! This Villa was incredible...super spacious, ever so clean, gorgeous views of the garden from the apartment porches, mind blowing view of the Chianti hillsides from the roof top terrace, HUGE bathroom, gorgeous period style furniture, incredibly comfortable bed, large and well-equipped kitchen, laundry facilities, air conditioning (although we didn't need to use it much as the mornings and evenings were cool and cooled the home), several outdoor sitting and dining spaces, good internet, within walking distance of a quaint restaurant, within driving distance of San Gimigniano - Certaldo Alto - Firenze - Siena - vineyards and wine tasting opportunities - and so much more, safe and private...and we could go on and on. And our host Ludovica was phenomenal - friendly, full of great suggestions, helpful, and very easy to reach. We actually booked 2 apartments as we visited Tuscany with friends, and we had the choice to keep the apartments private, or to open the doors that join the 2 apartments allowing for easy access to both apartments. This was the perfect stay and my husband and I are already discussing our return. Grazie Ludovica...per tutto!

Very recently remodeled/constructed, very comfortable and large for 1 bedroom, I would have liked to stay longer except this was a last minute booking and I was only filling several days before the next travel plan. However the property is pretty close to Certaldo which is a decent sized town without the big tourist crowds. I recommend going up the hill to Certaldo Alto which has some nice restaurants with views.
Decameron House is located in Certaldo, just 25 miles from Pitti Palace and 25 miles from Piazza Matteotti.

The old city is wonderful. Worth to visit. Good restaurants in the neighbourhood. I recommend to have a dinner in Marchese Val d’Elsa. View is stunning and food delicious. And the trip to go there is beautiful with absolutely great views. You need a car. It’s a 20 min trip.

Certaldo was the perfect place to stay in Chianti region of Tuscany. It had a train station so we could make our own way around to explore and sightsee. When visiting towns without a train, we took a taxi (NCC). Several people we met had rented cars and they found the area to be very drivable. Certaldo Basso (lower town) and Certaldo Alto (up the hill) are connected by scenic, natural walking paths and for those who prefer something easier, the very quaint Funiculare (1.5 Euro return). We stayed in Certaldo Alto, the historic centre of town. In addition to the fascinating museums - do not miss the Nail Museum - there are B & B's , apartments, and a lovely hotel. There are wonderful dining spaces inside and outside, bars and the wonderful Gelateria! In terms of crowds, there were occasional groups of tourists in Certaldo Alto but many times we were the only people walking down the cobbled roads in the middle of the day. The peace and quiet was most welcome after the throngs of people in Florence and Siena. Certaldo is a very special place. nestled in the heart of Tuscany.

This Medieval Borgo ranks among the most important in Italy...
This Medieval Borgo ranks among the most important in Italy for its history and access to both Florence and Siena. Additionally, this town is the birthplace of Giovanni Boccaccio and his featured in his major literature piece, The Decameron.
The new part of town is accessible with simple 10 minutes walks or via a mini railway (for a charge of €1,50); but you can also drive, thanks to the host who will manage getting the required permits.
Certaldo is very small but it sits at the crossroad of major communication roads, therefore it's easy to access Siena, San Gimignano, Volterra, Florence, and even Pisa.

It's very pretty hilltop settlement but you can see everything in half an hour. The funicular is fun but a little restrictive if you need to leave early. There are some great restaurants. It's the ideal stop-off for lunch if you are traveling back to Pisa from further south in Tuscany but not a great base for wider exploration.

Certaldo is very beautiful! Go to see the old town.
Certaldo is very beautiful! Go to see the old town. There is enough space for parking near the funicolare, the transport up hill.
Certaldo is central for visiting Siena, San Gimignano, Volterra and Florence. And you'll be driving through the most romantic landscape.
We had a great stay here. The place is absolutely beautiful, in top of a hill with stunning views. There was always a breeze so it wasn't too hot, even in July. No mosquitoes either! Barbara was very welcoming and she also said we could stay as long as we wanted on the Sunday as there weren't other guests coming. We took our dog and there are some lovely walks nearby. Kids loved the pool. Found, a great bakery about a 5 min drive away in Certaldo and we found a couple of really good places to eat in the evenings.
Everything was perfect. The room and bathrooms were renewed and clean, the breakfast was amazing with typical food and the location was in the old town of Certaldo. The attention we received from Sasha, the owner, was perfect and she took care of every request we had. I would recomend this place for a couple that wants to visit la Toscana and have romantic days around.
Comfortable, big enough, beautiful terrace with amazing Look, barbecue, all other stuff needed. Perfectly clean.
Location is perfect. Outside of the town, so you can have privacy and peace, yet very close to Certaldo Alto and city centre to go to shopping, lunch, dinner...
Ideal for daytrips to San Gimignano, Pisa, Lucca, Livorno, Florence, Siena... Perfect!
Amazing property, spacious living space, beautiful view. So relaxing and peaceful. The host was so welcoming and accommodating. This was the perfect place to relax and unwind after a day out in Tuscany. Close to Certaldo where you can find many restaurants, grocery stores, etc.
Good breakfast. Lovely grounds and outside area. Proper hotel and good bike storage. Make sure you get up to the old town via the funicular. Superb and a great place or two to visit up there also plus some decent eateries - the lower town is largely to be missed
