Located near the charming medieval town of Certaldo, this renovated 4-star hotel is set in a 16th-century flour mill. It offers a 5000-m² garden with outdoor pool, a fitness corner and sun terrace. The staff was so helpful with local I formation and restaurant recommendations! Such a pretty and peaceful location.
With a large outdoor pool and panoramic views of the Tuscan countryside, Podere Benintendi offers free Wi-Fi and air conditioned rooms. Bike rental is available. The location, is beyond what we expected. The sunset was one of the most beautiful moments of the day. Everything was peaceful and quiet. The room was clean and was taken care of every day. The host where attentive making everyone stay unforgettable. We will sure come back :)
Less than a 10-minute walk from Palazzo Pretorio, Casa Gori is located in the center of Certaldo. Offering free Wi-Fi and free bike rental, the property is only 328 feet from Certaldo Train Station. We had a great stay at Casa Gori! The b&b has a nice rustic Italian vibe. The owner, Mr. Gori, is a kind and helpful host. Breakfast is served in various cafes in close proximity to the b&b with typical Italian coffee and croissants. Overall we recommend Casa Gori for everyone who plans to visit Tuscany.
Antica Torre del Borgo is located in a medieval building in Certaldo, 19 mi from Florence and 22 mi from Siena. Free WiFi is available throughout the property. First of all I loved the old part of the city. Really having the vibes of the movie Chocolate:) The room was amazing- it was for three people, lovely clean bathroom-towels included, comfortable bed, nice mini fridge (I discovered it when I was watching TV- sounds). Breakfast was big and delicious. The owner is really friendly and super helpful. Definitely be back! Worth every euro! Really happy that I found it and booked it last minute.
Located 0.9 mi from Certaldo Train Station, Osteria Del Vicario offers a garden and free Wi-Fi. Guests can enjoy local Tuscan cuisine at the restaurant. The rustic rooms have a flat-screen TV. Beautiful 5-room hotel / BnB above a gorgeous restaurant. Amazing view over the old town and surrounding valleys. To get there we took a taxi from the train station - you could also get the funicolare (tram) up the hill. Staff were really friendly and personal, gave us a cold drink on arrival and a spritz when we were waiting for our taxi in the evening. Breakfast was 10 euro pp per day but unlimited contintental buffet, with lovely coffee. We ate on the terrace overlooking the amazing view. Right next to the town's medieval castle. Rooms are reasonably sized, bathroom was modern, everything was clean. Would absolutely recommend this hotel!!
Featuring an outdoor swimming pool and a garden with children’s playground, Tenuta Di Sticciano offers rooms a 15-minute drive from Certaldo. The property produces wines, olive oil and honey. Very nice pool and bar, excellent restaurant and very kind staff! And not to mention, their tasteful wine! 🍷😊
Surrounded by the Tuscan countryside. Il Paluffo is a 15th-century farmhouse that has preserved its historic wood-beamed ceilings and stone walls. It offers a large garden with an ecological pool. We were back already for the second time as we absolutely love it there. Very quiet, breathtaking view over Tuscany, beautiful ancient rooms with modern bathrooms, the prettiest nature pool etc. Lovely breakfast, everything well adapted with Covid safety measures. Thanks very much, we will definitely be back!
In the heart of the Chianti hills, 22 miles from Florence and 4 miles from Certaldo, you will find Fattoria Bacìo with its 340 acres of olive groves, and vineyards. great view (and pool), friendly service, big and clean rooms, delicious wine .....great holiday
Set in the Tuscan countryside, 1.9 mi from Certaldo, Agriturismo La Canonica is surrounded by olive groves and vineyards. The property produces olive oil and wine, available for tastings. We came to Agriturismo La Canonica being a little bit afraid if it was a good choice for our vacation in Tuscany. On place we met very very kind, hospitable and helpful people. The week we have spent in Certaldo passed unfortunately too fast. We had a very comfortable apartment with a big terrace. We ate breakfasts and sometimes dinners on it. The swimming pool was very close to our apartment and it was a part of a very nice recreation area. Near our house there was also a horse farm what was very important for our daughter who took riding lessons every day. The trainer was very communicative so we felt always comfortable and safe while riding on the horses. One day we tried a tour on the horses on the hills near the agritourism and it was ne excellent and unforgettable experience. The hosts recommended us very good restaurants in Certaldo so we had the possibility to try a good Tuscany kitchen. It was a wonderful week in Tuscany. We hope to come back to that place again in the short future. THANK YOU VERY MUCH MAURIZIO, BIANCA AND ISACCO!
We stayed only one night in Certaldo which was probably too short.. The Covid pandemic was happening whilst we were there, which meant it wasn't overly busy. In fact I would call it peaceful. It's a lovely old town with plenty of good places to enjoy the best if the local cuisine. It also has a Fernicular train to take you down to the more modern town down the hill. There are panaramic views across the beautiful Tuscan landscape as far as San Gimignano, and also plenty of interesting views of the town as you wander the back streets. It may not be so peaceful next time, but I am sure that we will return.
Has a famous walled town at the top of the hill connected via a funicular, or bus. Excellent train connections make it a central point for Florence, Pisa, Lucca, Sienna and San Giminiano. Lots of eating places and an excellent Cafe outside the train station
We all ( 7 family groups ) used the main supermarket for our groceries but made the train station café as our meeting place. Prices were good and staff were friendly and helpful. Having a train station made travelling to Florence / Sienna so much better than by car especially with children. Certaldo Alto was interesting but sitting with coffee and cakes overlooking the stunning Tuscany countryside - not to be missed.
Certaldo Alto is an amazing town - an old town, built on a rock, above the newer Certaldo. It isn't massively touristy or over-commercialised (like San Gimingnano) and therefore not full of "tat shops" and leather shops. There are not people standing outside their restaurants trying to usher you in to eat. This is a proper "old world" town - unchanged and unspoilt. It still has a proper medieval feel to it - and is fabulous. Buy a ticket at the castle and visit all four museums in Certaldo (for about 4 euros for everything) - it really is worth it. There is far more to the museums that you would imagine. Go to Boccaccia's house - and make sure you climb the tower for the incredible views. Visit the two ladies working in the ceramics gallery - see them painting their pottery - and have a look in the studio/shop at their beautiful things! The bird life and bird song was lovely - especially early morning. Great to see so many swifts and swallows darting about everywhere! This is a very central location, but you do need a car! Easy to get to Monteriggioni, Montepulchiano, Lucca, Pisa, Florence, Siena, Greve in Chianti, Volterra - even to places on the coast like Cecina or Livorno. This is a really good central location. There are a few restaurants in Certaldo Alto (where we stayed) and they are really good. There are also a couple of Gelateria's - also excellent. If you like to feel you are somewhere authentic that hasn't yet been spoiled by tourism, this is a great little place to stay!
We where going for a little quiet town whith a medieval town, and that what's we got. Nice and friendly people. They appreciate when I try to practice my simple italian, and become extra velcoming when they know that we came from Norway. Easy to reach other cities in the middle of Toscana.
Old city of Certaldo is a perfect place to stay if you are a bit tired of big cities and noise. It’s difficult to describe how evenings in Certaldo are cozy and calm.Very nice restaurants with amazingly tasty food.Easy access ia train to Sienna and Florence, 50 just minutes away.

Great view and the pool and sun lounges were better than we expected. This was a very easy place to use as a base for several days. The dinners in the evening were tasty and very good value. Nice range of pizzas with a few other dishes to choose from.
The staff was so helpful with local I formation and restaurant recommendations! Such a pretty and peaceful location.
Very nice pool and bar, excellent restaurant and very kind staff! And not to mention, their tasteful wine! 🍷😊
