Palazzo Pacini, Villa Lecchi Hotel Wellness, and Relais Della Rovere got great room view-related reviews from travelers in Colle di Val d'Elsa.
A wonderful town, in particular the citadel on top of the hill, it's a historic fortress with tiny little roads and a wonderful view from the top. I'd recommend to stay in Colle Val D'Elsa rather than in San Gimignano as it's much quieter and less touristy place (unless of course you love the tourist buzz). If not staying overnight, I'd definitely recommend to add a half day trip to Colle Val D'Elsa to your itinerary, maybe accompanied by a quick visit to a small castle of Monteriggioni nearby and a dinner there at Ristorante Il Feudo https://www.ilfeudomonteriggioni.it/, the truffle tart there was AMAZING :-) Enjoy!
It was a beautiful experience. The place has a unique character, classical style but furnished with all the expected up to date technologies. Well done appartment, clean and enjoyable. Very pleasant people, who serve incredible breakfasts
Nice city, historical facilities and local restaurants. Also a great point for visiting other attractions in Tuscany. Enough free parking spaces. Visited several good restaurants and had great coffee and pastries at Pasticceria Mario Barone at a good price.
Colle Val D'Elsa surprised me with its old town, silence and cleanliness. No tourist traffic, two museums (we visited a crystal glass factory one), a medieval atmosphere, a few cosy restaurants, and great views of Tuscany from the city walls. The winery ,,Enoteca" in the town is excellent, not only do they offer wine, but they also have snacks and hot traditional food, which really made a good impression. The famous San Gimignano is just 14km away and is also very worth a visit and a return to the peaceful Val d'Elsa for night's sleep :)
This location is spectacular for visiting ALL of Tuscany ‐ Siena, Florence, Chianti region, San Gimignano, Volterra, Lucca, - are all less than 1 hours drive. But I can only recommend this region for those who have cars. I know very little about how good it would be for those using public transportation.
Very cute town, the old part is on top of a hill, with little streets and nice buildings & city walls. We had amazing typical food at a local restaurant called "L'oste Di Borgo". Worth a visit for a stroll by the water (and a swim if the weather is warm) is the near by Parco Fluviale Alta Val D'Elsa
