An impressive pink villa of the 18th century, Villa Signorini Hotel is set between the Portici Royal Palace and the seaside. Most rooms offer views of the gardens. Parking is free. The staff was amazing! So helpful and knowledgeable. Maps, directions, and tickets to local attractions. The restaurant staff was also great, so was the food. Very nice breakfast buffet.
Set inside Mount Vesuvius National Park, Hotel Souvenir offers free parking. It is 5 minutes' drive from the ancient Roman town of Ercolano and its ancient ruins, including the Villa of the Papyri. Wish all people could be like Pasquale and his brother. Made you feel welcome from the start made sure you got to the hotel and other sites in good time and safely.
A few yards from the entrance to the Herculaneum excavations, this 18th-century villa offers large, modern rooms overlooking the sea or the 82 ft² grounds surrounding the hotel. The Miglio D' oro park hotel, My family and I stayed for 3 memorable nights during peak season it was hot! not hotter then Rome but still hot. I loved the property it is actually an archeological site itself !!! I got lost in their park (inside the property) it was stunning. The fig tree was in season so had to help myself. The large size pool was at the right temperature, clean, inviting and soothing. We had daily breakfast and dinner luckily for us it was artisanal pizza week at the hotel so didn't have to venture far. Our room was very large we were upgraded to an ocean view with a balcony our other room had the garden (park) view which was also nice and roomy, the bathrooms were ample, clean, shower and tub combo plenty of towels. the beds were very comfortable two large queen sized beds pushed together but super comfortable. The front desk staff was to me is what pushed to a 5 star + rating well actually the entire staff...Its people that make a stay a memorable and yes amenities do help, working equipment of course, but can't stress about the staff, Armando made sure my family felt safe, informed us on local things to do, printed tickets for us and pretty much anything we wanted he helped to the fullest, the bellboy Fernando also every time we ran into him asked if we need it anything, maybe me being Argentinean & the love affair with Maradona, being a Boca Jrs. fan and visiting S.S.C. Napoli country I felt at home :) The Servers at the restaurants always with a smile and warm service. This hotel is in a small town called Ercolano surrounded by a family environment neighborhood at the feet of Mt Vesuvius.
Offering free WiFi and a seasonal outdoor swimming pool, Il San Cristoforo offers rooms in Ercolano, 1.6 mi from Ercolano Ruins and 3.7 mi from Vesuvius. A little oasis in the middle of a busy city. Wonderful grounds available for waking and enjoying the majestic view of Mount Vesuvius. Had an amazing 5 course tasting dinner. Excellent staff - Francesco Capone is very attentive and gave us an introductory tour. Rooms are big, clean.
Located 2.4 miles from Ercolano Ruins, La Mariposa de La Reina offers an outdoor swimming pool, a garden and air-conditioned accommodations with a balcony and free WiFi. The b and b is located in a small village right outside of napoli- full of vineyards and fields, the room was very nice and the breakfast was delicious. the couple who owns the b&b is so nice and helpful. If visiting napoli with a car, it is a perfect solution- stay there and they will take you into the city and pick you up when you are done! also from there to pompei and ercolaneum is a 15 minute ride and the owner gave us a fully detailed explanation of where to go and what to see. We had a great stay!

The location was excellent - close to Herculaneum. The staff was excellent - both friendly and extremely helpful. We ate dinner in the restaurant of the hotel and the quality to price ratio was extremely high.
The excavation site was the perfect size for exploring with 3 kids for the day. The burger restaurant just down the street from the entrance makes delicious hamburgers. VIP Burger on Via IV Novembre. The audio guide for the ruins is a waste of money. The directions and information don't match what you see. Looking back, I wish I had taken the guided tour. My kids prefer just walking around, but I like to know what I am looking at. We went to the MAV museum before the ruins. That helped a little to know what we were looking at. It could be a lot better. They call it a virtual reality museum, but it is not. It is videos and pictures with a couple that have some interactive technology where you wave your hand in front of the screen like you are wiping dirt off of art work. Some interactive parts are all written word only in Italian. The English translations are pretty bad on all the reading parts.
Staff was very accommodating and food was good quality. Pool facilities were awesome with lounge chairs the staff set up for you. Having ocean so close was also a huge plus. Also they checked us in by noon well before time of 3:00. Gave us a room early. Only negative we could say was that building needed some minor repairs but rooms were clean and comfortable.
The streets around the site are a nightmare for driving. This is despite the advantages of having no working traffic lights (which helps everybody!). Good parking next to the site. Note that all the good statues and other artefacts found are in the main museum in Naples. However, the ruins are a life experience - not to be missed. But it is a graveyard and the realisation that the site was at the edge of the sea before it was buried by 40ft volcanic concrete is sobering and the skeletons are heart-rending.
We spent two nights in Ercolano -- on our way to visit the Amalfi Coast and on our way back. We spent very little time in the town, except for driving around trying to find the place. GPS would have helped, as would street signs! A very helpful and kind resident led us there. The afternoon of our second stay, we walked to the port and along the wharf. Pleasant enough, but somewhat in disrepair.
We never went outside the villa, as we were there only one night. The driving is very difficult in the city: many one way streets, narrow, cobbled roads; and few street signs. We found it difficult to get around and find the villa. People were very helpful, though. One gentleman had us follow him to the villa, even though he was going somewhere else!

Great location, 10 minutes from Herculaneum, right under Mt. Vesuvius, a free beach 15 minutes away, two supermarkets less that 5 minutes away, a train station close by that takes you to Pompeii or center of Napoli. Everything was extremely clean, nothing was broken, breakfast was always good. Great view of Mt Vesuvius from the balcony. Strong wifi, good air conditioning. With others hotels and places in Italy I always had problems but not with this one. Pretty much the perfect place to stay if you are staying in Neapol/Ercolano.

Warm welcome, comfortable chalet style room, clean, well appointed, quiet, relaxed. The main villa has retained all of its warm "old world charm" that makes Italy the wonderful destination that it is. It is strategically located for both Napoli, Pompei and the Amalfi coast, and the ruins of Erculano (Herculaneum) are within walking distance as is the train station.

Beautiful property situated on the side of Vesuvius. Large garden in a very quiet area. A small family run business with just three rooms but on a par with any high calibre hotel service. We arrived late in the evening which was not a problem and were even offered sandwiches for supper. Complimentary drinks given in the mini bar as well fruit from the garden.

Large hotel grounds, beautiful and clean. Very friendly staff even more so the receptionist who booked our trip and taxi. Perfect for those who want to visit Herculaneum as it’s just down the road. Very quiet when we stayed in July. Perfect for couples. We stayed 3 nights which was long enough even to fit in a trip to Capri. Breakfast ok.

This is a,fantastic quality little hotel at a great price in the best location. Forget Pompei. Herculaneum has ruins AND Mt Vesuvius and Luca at Hotel Herculaneum! Brilliant staff genuinely dedicated to sharing the best of their home town. Lacks all the nasty touristy stuff - genuine, simple Italian life! Lived it!!

Stone Hotel was the greatest place we've stayed in, during our visit in Campagna. Francesca is a wonderful host and a great guide. She gave us helpful tips about the main attractions that shouldn't be missed while in Ercolano. The view is fabulous, having mt. Vesuvius on one side and the sea on the other.

The location near the entrance to Herculaneum is fantastic. Parking is about a 1/4 mile walk down the street but safe and easily accessed. Nearby shops and restaurants make this neighborhood a nice vibrant and convenient place to crash. Wonderful owners (young couple)! Very Hospitable!
