HungaryEven though I stayed only for one night, I can strongly recommend this hotel. It's quite close to the city centre, the staff is extremely nice and helpful, while the room was quiet and comfortable. The parking is free and very close to the hotel.

It's a unique experience here, of all Italian hill towns...
It's a unique experience here, of all Italian hill towns this is one of the most complex and interesting, with a warren of streets & alleys to explore up the hillside. On the downside, navigating all the steps - many of which have long stretches without handrails, and are flanked by drainage channels which mean you can't even lean a hand on the wall - can be tricky if you (and your knees!) are getting on in years, like me. However, the popularity of the town usually means there is somebody nearby who is happy to give you some help. This trip, a walk back from the Bosone Garden restaurant (excellent) to the 24-hour gate of the hotel was especially atmospheric and pleasant, even with the mobility challenges.

Lovely place to visit, very interesting and easily exceeded my expectations.
Must not miss Piazza Grande, Palazzo dei Consoli, Colle Eletto Cable car, Basilica St. Ubaldo, Bargello Fountain.
You will be spoilt for choice when it comes to eating out but booking is recommended. We ate at Il Bargello, typical Umbrian food or pizza is available and they also offer a very reasonably priced tourist menu at lunch time.
Plenty of places to visit, lovely walk up to Mount Ingino or you can go by cable car which was another experience in itself.
But even just wandering around the lovely streets is pleasant. In my opinion you need a couple of days at least to see and do everything .

The quintessential Italian village -- so much history with...
The quintessential Italian village -- so much history with beautiful cobblestone streets, amazing cafes and quaint shops. We were there for a family baptism and every venue accommodated our large groups with advance planning. Completely gracious and wonderful -- I will definitely return. It's a hidden gem.

We travelled back to the Middle Ages, which I loved, especially the Renaissance, while maintaining a modern way of life. It is a wonderful clean city with a very special atmosphere and welcoming residents. The bars and restaurants are very good, we didn't have a bad experience anywhere.

Gubbio is a medieval city, full of magic if you want to listen to the buildings and streets. If you read about its history you can find magic at every corner. But if you like holidays with shopping malls and modern excitements this is not your town.

Some very interesting shops but just because it says on the website or on the shop door that a shop opens at x time, this may or may not be true. For example, the linen shop near our accommodation was said to open at 10 am. I waited till about 10.30 am but the shop didn't open so I left.
It is a very picturesque town, quite different from some other parts of Italy. There are many restaurants there and you can get some non-Italian foods, e.g. hamburgers.
I found Gubbio to be quaint and would re-visit but would research the town more thoroughly than I did before arrival to identify exactly what I did/didn't want to see/visit. I would even contact shops I wanted to visit, e.g. the shop specialising in linen, in advance to confirm shop opening times.

The apartment is sunny, spacious and well-situated, very close to several bars and shops and within a km or two of the old centre. We were two couples staying and we found it to be extremely comfortable and convenient in every way. Michela was very accommodating with our check-in and throughout our stay made sure we were happy. Thank you, we will definitely consider staying again on our return to Gubbio.

Lovely hotel making a good start for our pilgrim journey. I was very happy that our room had a traditional bath rather than a shower. We had to pay extra for breakfast but it was nice. The rooms were furnished in traditional style with a beautiful area for reading near the reception desk.

Wonderful location, very quiet and surrounded by pristine nature. Splendid view of Gubbio. The appartments are spacious and well equipped. The swimming pool is well-maintained and has a nice size, also suitable for swimming. Gubbio can be reached easily by a short car ride.

A modern hotel, strong wifi, a Restaurant with excellent food. Staff were friendly and helpful. Parking stress free and without extra charge. The location is good. The city centre can be reached by foot or by car.
