The Iris is situated a 17th-century building, close to Perugia's Rocca Paolina fortress and the Sant'Ercolano Church. The hotel's wide panoramic terrace offers views of the old city and the hills. This hotel is in a quiet location ( especially the rooms at the back ) There is a road at the front but it is at a lower level so its not really an issue. The hotel is conveniently situated near to the pedestrian walkway and escalators up to the upper town . It is an historic building with painted ceilings in the rooms. The large terraced breakfast area at the front of the hotel gives a great view over the countryside. The optional light continental breakfast is good value. The staff were very friendly and helpful . English spoken. This is the best review I have written on any hotel .

Hotel in Old Town, Perugia
Take a dip in the indoor swimming pool with glass floor, revealing 3,000-year-old Etruscan ruins. Just one of the luxuries you will enjoy at Hotel Brufani Palace. location is the best. The hotel is at ZTL the limited traffic zone yet it is located in a place where you can easily access by car without any obstacle (such as bars) because public buses even pass by that area. (And hotel is reporting to the authority that we are their guests so we don’t get the fine. They even parked our car and brought it back to us only with fee that we pay to the hotel per night, no extra charge! ) From the hotel, we can walk to any places almost flat. I saw some escalators or elevators coming up but it doesn’t reach to the top if we opted to stay down the old town. I’m sure it was so inconvenient for us just to visit the old town. Perugia old town is not big, but surrounding medieval houses stretches wide so that it would be hard to go up by foot even you take minimetro or escalators. The best other option can be bus which stops at this hotel area. But to me, facility was really super good, and staff were all very professional, and I’d come back to this hotel if I come to Perugia again.

Travellers who stayed in Perugia near Perugia San Francesco d'Assisi Airport (PEG) have said good things about Lo Spedalicchio, Hotel Parco Dei Cavalieri Assisi and Relais Madonna di Campagna.
Perugia is the best place we've been in so far for Etruscan art, especially funerary art, with the possible exception of the Etruscan Art Museum in Rome. Make sure not to miss the Hypogeum of the Volumni. The sacred art was also distinctive and very interesting. I particularly liked the National Art Gallery, which had multimedia resources to make the visit more instructive and rewarding. Umbrian food is also great, we ate there best of all cities in this visit. Even cheap wines are tasty, and make sure to try the chocolates, too. Al mangiar Bene and Trattoria Mangiafuoco were highlights, especially the former. Moving around the Perugian historical centre is easy, just be prepared to go up and down a fair bit. If you're lodging outside the centre, the minimetro and urban buses are easy to get tickets for - all hotels and tabaccherie ("tobacco shops") sell them. However, bus stops have poor instructions about times and routes, and even finding the right place can be hard. Some stops are only for getting off, not for boarding, so that can be confusing, too. All in all, the city is a big plus to visit in all Italy trips that have time to do more than the absolute trivial (Rome, Naples, Florence, Venice etc.).
Nice university oriented town but only need 1 day here. Many more interesting & quaint towns in the Umbria area in which would be more worthwhile to stay. Recommend a Very good truffle based restaurant: Al Tartufo.
Perugia is an beautiful ancient city. Parking in the parking areas is comfortable, from there it easy the walk the steepy pavements to the city. It has good restaurants and there are enough ancient spots.
Perugia is a hidden gem in the heart of Italy! The old town was magnificent and loved all the meandering streets to get lost on. The aqueduct was very cool and the views from the top of town at sunset were stunning. This would be a great place to have an extended stay and explore the Umbria region more. Can't recommend enough!
Perugia is steeped in history and an absolutely beautiful place to be! I did a walking tour from the Doumo and it was well worth the 25 Euros. I stayed at Hotel Fortuna which is fantastic value for money.
Nice vibrant city with beautiful architecture and nice bars and cafes. A little dirty but this kind of added to the charm. It was hot when visiting, would like to return in spring or autumn when a little cooler.
The apartment is amazing! Beautiful decor - retro but modern. Very comfy bed & panoramic views. It has everything you need including great Wi-Fi and a rainfall shower! It is just a short walk to the old town and there is plenty of parking close by. It is far better than any hotel and the coffee shop is on the doorstep for breakfast! There is also a little supermarket too. It was the perfect place to stay to see Perugia and I cannot recommend it enough!!! FANTASTICO!!
It was a good value and really perfect if you are driving as it has a parking lot. The room was clean, though it felt a little dated. The front desk staff were great, very polite and accommodating. it was also nice that they had a restaurant This is rare but really great because the hotel is not central. The food was good. The chef knows how to cook. There is a bit of a walk if you want to go to a nice place to eat.
It's a lovely hotel right in the centre of Perugia close to everything but in a quiet street. It has historic features beautiful cielings. The breakfast was very good with a choice of savory and sweet. The room was big we were 3 sharing a we had alot of room and a big bathroom. Hotel Fortuna is the perfect place to stay on a visit to Perugia.
In the middle of the city center such a family business has to be celebrated!! With good suggestions about what to do in Perugia, the personal is one of a kind! If this is not enough, they even have the perfect parking spot in front of the hotel for you!
A terrific hotel, outstandingly run. Convenient to Perugia access from down hill parking lot, and still with great town location. Exceptionally clean with modern conveniences and excellent linens. Great views. Wonderful host - great communication.
This hotel is fantastic value for the price. Staff is very accommodating, rooms are clean and serviced daily, beds are very comfortable, Wi-Fi is solid and there is hot water (not to be taken lightly when traveling Italy). I will absolutely return.
The highlights of hotel La Rosetta are definitely the staff, which was nice and helpful, and the location. the breakfast is very nice, better than the common hotel breakfast
Very old hotel not really close to the main attractions in the city. It is family run but in Italy this often means very poor service and lack of professional atitudes.
Very nice hotel right in the middle of Perugia with very friendly and helpful staff. Easy to talk everywhere in the old town. Highly recommended.
Beautiful oasis near Perugia. Gardens and outdoor space are beautiful. Restaurant onsite was very good and not expensive.
