First off, the location was great. We loved being on the water but with access to the historic center (everything was walkable). The hotel office staff were very communicative and helped us figure out the free parking situation. They have a golf cart they use to shuttle guests and luggage to and from nearby parking spots located just outside the old town center. The size, cleanliness, and comfort of the bedroom and bathroom scored high for us. The bed (a true king) was very comfortable, and the double sinks in the bathroom were a big bonus. The amenities in the room, like water, slippers, bathrobes, and even scale were also really appreciated. The breakfast was perhaps the most special, with warm/friendly restaurant staff and homemade cakes, savory dishes, and delicious coffee. We were lucky to get the window seat that looked out onto the ocean all the mornings of our visit. I should note that, due to the time of year, their rooftop restaurant was closed and the outdoor pool, while filled, didn't appeal for obvious reasons. However, I can imagine these facilities being a special part of a visit at another time.

A truly special experience at Il Melograno, Monopoli The hotel is simply stunning - a large and beautiful estate with only a small number of rooms, which makes you feel as if the entire place is yours. Everything is spotless, peaceful, and incredibly charming. The food is great, with a rich breakfast, and also the restaurant for dinner was very good! The service was excellent and very personal. A special thanks to Alessandra, who hosted a wonderful cooking class for us. She was so kind, patient, and knowledgeable - she truly taught us the art of cooking! It was such a lovely and unique experience to prepare, bake, and even take home what we made, along with the recipe as a keepsake 😉. Alessandra also gave us great local recommendations that made our stay even better. We truly loved every moment and will definitely come back!

Monopoli is a charming coastal town with a beautifully preserved old center full of narrow streets, whitewashed houses and lively piazzas. The town has a great vibe, especially in the evenings, with plenty of excellent restaurants offering fresh seafood and local specialties. Its seaside promenade and little coves add to the relaxed, welcoming atmosphere. A lovely place to wander, eat, and enjoy authentic Puglian life. Monopoli was my wifes favourite place in Puglia!

Beautiful town and perfect location to visit other towns. Husband and I both agreed that Monopoli was the best location by far. We stayed about a five minute walk from the old city, which put you in a residential area. Lots of great restaurants and shops away from the tourist spots.

Monopoli is a quiet alternative to Bari.

Monopoli is a quiet alternative to Bari. It has an old town, restaurants and seaside and AT LEAST a day's worth of things to do and see. Access to Bari by train is easy, and preferable to driving. When we explored Bari, much larger, flashier and noisier (still beautiful and intriguing) we were pleased with our decision to stay out of town. From Monopoli it is easy to head to other regional highlights such as Ostuni, Alberobello, Altamura and Gravina in Puglia. As it was November, we didn't spend time on the beaches, but understand that they are lovely.

Monopoli is a calm, clean city with lots of great restaurants and a nice historic center as well as a coastline. It was a great base centrally located so we were able to travel to Bari, Matera, Alberobello, Lecce, Polignano a Mare and Ostuni.

Perfect for day and half-day trips interspersed with relaxing in town. Train station is a 17 minute walk and connects you with so many places in Umbria. Eat at il guezzato (sp?), my wine, and get gelato often from gelateria porta del mare.

10-15 drive to monopoli and polignano. Pool was clean and wonderful. The house was very large and just great to stay in. Host was very helpful, gave us a lot of plaves near by that we could go to and get takeaway from. Supermarket is 10 mins away with a great selection of wines and as well as various cheese and meats. Honestly the best place we stayed at in Italy by a long way. You do need a car though. Perfect for a group or large family as the accomodation easily caters for 4-5 people. The only regret was not staying there longer.

Superb location, right on the square and just minutes from restaurants and all the sights. The room was beautiful. Spotlessly clean and then re cleaned every day. The staff were so helpful. Booked us a day at a local beach club including transfers. Then Pierre arranged a day trip to his friends Masseria - we used the outdoor pool, had exclusive of the spa and ate amazing food. We had the best time in Monopoli - THANK YOU x

It is a cosy, clean, comfortable house. Louisa is a very kind and helpful host. Monopoli is the best place to stay if you will be travelling around Puglia and this house is at a very good location, 5min walk to the train station, 700m to one of the best beaches.
