Located just a few steps from the beach, Hotel Marina offers accommodations in Monterosso al Mare, in the Cinque Terre National Park. We traveled with a family of 7; two grandparents, one parent, and four children ages 11-19. Marina and Eraldo are lovely people. Eraldo oversaw the gourmet breakfast on their rooftop restaurant amid beautiful lemon trees (buffet was exquisite!) Impressed by their kind staff, comfortable, & very clean rooms. Central location, close to restaurants and markets. They offer cute towels and tote for the beach visits-a 7 minute walk, arranged for a luggage shuttle to the train station, and gave us each a parting gift. The only place I would stay when I visit Monterosso again!

Hotel Stella Della Marina Hotel is in the center of Monterosso, part of the famous Cinque Terre Regional Park on the Ligurian coast. Everything about the stay was fantastic. From the check in to check out. The owner is the best! His hospitality was out of this world. He gave us so much info, all we had to do was sit back, and relax and enjoy all of cinque terre had to offer. The breakfast in the morning on the roof top was awesome. The room was big and spacious. We would recommend anyone to come here! We didn’t want to leave!! Thank you

Perfect location and having the extra bedroom across the hall with it's own bathroom gave us some privacy from the teenagers we were traveling with. Clean, easy to find and the neighbor was helpful checking us in with lots of fun hand speaking. Eat across the railroad tracks at La Taverna for a romantic and delicious meal.
This was a great base of operations for our visit to Cinque Terre and it suited our family of four well for a four day stay. All of the villages are small and quaint and easy to walk about, with trains and buses where needed, and of course the famous hiking trails that connect them all. Many restaurants and shops and access to the water in most of the villages as well. Overall a most excellent adventure. Highly recommend the off season to avoid the maddening crowds that drastically overwhelm the villages in the high season.
We loved the town, but because of landslides we couldn’t walk from the new town (very charming where we stayed) to old town Monterosso at night. Getting around is easy, however, because you can take a 3 minute train ride to the next Cinque Terre town. My favorite spot was Billy’s restaurant in Manarola because the walk up there was amazing and charming. We took so many gorgeous photos that we have a lot of work to do when we go home to go through them. I recommend going to Riomaggiore just before sunset, and then quickly catch the train and get more sunset pictures in Manarola. All of the trails were closed due to recent storms. But we walked so much in the towns anyway, that it didn’t matter.
I enjoyed Monterosso the most out of the 5 cities. It is easy to navigate, plenty of good restaurants, and has all the travel options to get to the other cites quite easily. We were there 2 full days plus one night. I would probably extend it an extra day or so if I had the option. I would also avoid the weekend. The cities were very crowded even though it was off season. Most places in Monterosso accept credit cards. The other cites work pretty much on a cash basis so be prepared.
I like the concept of the old town and the new town being separated by a tunnel. Old town was our favorite with its quaint streets and businesses and many sidewalk cafes. So charming. Both parts are very walkable, but not friendly for those with walking problems.
It was my favorite of the 5 towns. It was more spread out and less congested. It has the nicest beach and great selection of restaurants. Far fewer steps than the other towns to get from the train station or ferry to train. We did the best part of the hiking trail from Monterosso to Vernazza. Very scenic and beautiful.
Traveling with 8 people, we stayed in 4 rooms. The rooms were very modern and clean. Special touches in each room; including espresso, mini fridge, and a welcome basket of fruit and prosecco. Also provided beach towels. Stunning views from the roof top patio, providing a stunning evening sunset/cocktail atmosphere. Mira, our host, was lovely and so helpful in all of our dining recommendations and reservations. Would highly recommend this place for a relaxing stay in Cinque Terre. Monterosso was our favorite of the 5 villages.
Excellent accommodation in Monterosso old town. Located on pedestriansed street, in safe & quiet area. Only 10 min walk to train station. Beaches 5 & 10 min walks. Lots of restaurants and shops close by. Hotel itself was very clean and room had great shower. Top marks to Gabriel, the owner, who was excellent host. He shared lots of info on Cinque Terre and how best to hike between villages. He also helped me book restaurant and when I had to check our early he made sure I had a packed breakfast. Thanks Gabriel!
Eremo Della Maddalena is situated beautifully with stunning views over Monterosso. The building itself is also beautiful and immaculately restored. The hotel is about 10 mins drive from Monterosso centre and we enjoyed being able to escape the crowds of tourists. The gardens are lovely and there is a relaxing pool and lounge area for communal use. The breakfast was delicious and Sunil was extremely friendly and attentive.
This hotel is a great choice!! Located at Monterosso, which was my favorite terre, the hotel is near the beach, and in a nice area. The hotel is very confortable, nice swimming pool, nice balcony with great view from my room, and a delicious breakfast with italian hot chocolate, and lots of options!!! The price was fair, compared to other places that i had seen in Cinque terre.
The view from the room was amazing! A great place to stay near Monterosso. The hotel staff was super kind and the man offered a transport to the city of Monterosso in several times of the day. I definitely recommend staying here for an optimal experience during your trip to Cinque Terre
Location was great with free parking on the premises. Apartment was clean. Luckily not many steep steps that is typical of Cinque Terre. Mariana was very helpful in giving us detailed information on how to get to the apartment as it was late at night. Would recommend this apartment.
Location is excellent! Right in the middle between the bakeries, restaurants and shops of Monterosso and the property was sparkling clean! 100% recommended to explore the Cinque Terre area. Raquel and Lorenzo were very friendly and helpful!! Would stay there again!
Making tea facilities.. Cleanliness.. Distance from train station is walkable (5-10min) The 1st village of Cinque Terre, stay here and easyly visit each town by train and not trail in winter month. Check in easy and well communicate.
We booked a sea viewing room. Simply gorgeous. Hotel is located on hill, so you can see the whole Monterosso. They arrange a free shuttle between hotel and village which is very convenience. 景色无敌!!!
Perfect location in Monterosso. Just a short walk from the beach. Nice yard outside the hotel. Friendly and helpful staff. The family room was spacoious, modern, clean and with good air-condition.
Loved the location! The owners went out of their way to help us in any way and make us feel comfortable. Lots of places to hike, kayak and explore. We loved our time in Cinque Terre!
I think that the little village of Monterosso is the loveliest, with beautiful beaches, great food and the least crowded of all of Cinque Terre.
The room was very nice as was the location in Monterosso. The breakfast was beyond expectations. We would totally recommend the hotel Souvenir!
