Set near shopping centers, this 3-star hotel is within easy reach of the A1 motorway, train station and funicular railway, which will bring you to Orvieto’s historic center. Five minute walk from the train station, which is extremely helpful if you're carrying your luggage in this hill town. The funicular, which is also within a five minute walk, will take you up the hill to historic Orvieto. It's a cozy, family run establishment with very clean rooms. You can smell their fire burning grill and oven even from the street, which I think gives it an even cozier feeling. Breakfast with cakes and other options, including several coffees and juices, was adequate. Dinner and beverage options in the restaurant were very good, Definitely have their grilled meats! The staff was extremely nice and helpful.

It is great for a quiet getaway, especially if you like history, churches, and archaeology. The atmosphere of an authentic, living small town is all around you and there for the finding if you like to explore on foot. The local food is hearty and delicious (think pork roast, wild boar, truffles, and handmade pasta) but also with lovely soups and pastries. The people are kind and courteous, there is quality local shopping, and you will find artists' workshops tucked away up picturesque back streets. You are up on a high bluff, so the views of the countryside are wonderful. The main reason for your visit is the breathtaking Duomo (Cathedral) its facade a marvel of beautiful detail, its interior full of sculpture. But it is the side chapel of San Brizio, decorated with frescoes of the Last Judgment by Luca Signorelli, that will blow you away, just as it did Michelangelo and Raffaello Sanzio. For history nerds like me, the Etruscan artifacts and Greek vases in the National Archaeological Museum next to the Duomo are stunning and beautifully presented, while the older Claudio Faina also has fascinating finds from local Etruscan tombs. Oh, and if you like funicular railways, the short ride up to the city from the train station is almost worth the price of admission.
Orvieto is a unique hilltop town situated high above the surrounding plains. We stayed at Chiara e Benedetta B&B right at the base of the 'rock' and it was very easy to get into the main city from there, although it is a really steep walk! Much easier to drive to the parking area and take the elevator and escalators to the city centre. From there the city is easy walking with delightful shops and great places to eat. The Duomo and the Underground Tours are a must!
It was tranquil and exactly what we needed after three days in the hustle and bustle of Florence. We were treated with such kindness and the staff was extremely accommodating. Highly recommend for any couples or travelers needing a romantic get-away in a wonderful secret town of Italy!
Excellent food, our accommodations, scenery. Our host Daniela was exceptional. She met us in town and took us and our luggage to the apartment. Daniela directed us to a parking garage and parking space that we could have access to for our week stay. She also dropped us off at our car the day we were leaving- very early in the morning! Daniela’s apartment was beautifully decorated and had everything we needed. She answered questions about restaurant and sites to see. She also provided items for breakfast so we didn’t have to worry about going shopping for breakfast items that day. The apartment was impeccably clean and welcoming because of Daniela. We would highly recommend il gelsomino di Isia. Thanks Daniela! Marybeth and Eileen
A lovely hill-top town with a rich history. The remains of its Etruscan and medieval periods are particularly worth viewing. The town can be easily explored on foot although there are some steep hills (as is common to Umbrian towns). The Duomo itself is spectacular both inside and out, although in August the basilica and many of the other sites in town closed earlier than advertised. The people I encountered in the town were very friendly and there was a wide range of shops and restaurants to try out.
Orvieto is an amazing place.. a jewel. Small enough to easily walk from one end to the other... and see in a couple of days.. and the food options are plentiful and reasonably priced. The Duomo is the main attraction, excellent facade and frescos.... but there is also an underground Etruscan city, and museum too.
Orvieto
The grounds are lovely! Even though the pool was too cold for more than soaking our feet in, it was so relaxing to hang out on the chaise lounges in the garden. The breakfast was probably the best from our entire 3+-week trip in Italy. It was so nice to have eggs (there was a cheese omelet to share) in addition to the breads, tarts, pastries, yogurt, and fruit! Taxis were hard to come by, so we were grateful to be given a ride to the train station by the owner's daughter. That was truly going above-and beyond!
Orvieto
The location is very good and just 5 minutes walk from Duomo. From train station to Old history centrum by cable car and mini bus. Cost 1,3 euro total. The room is very big and nice. Evening is quiete. The Hostess Rosana is very friendly and helpful. She give me lots of help and easy communication. Check in is easy. The town Orvieto is beautiful and known as town on the sky.During I stayed I visited Duomo and underground cave with group( in advance booking is necessary).
Orvieto
First stayed here in 2019 and liked it so much that it was the only place we considered when we returned for a short stay in August '22. Everything you need is here, and the apartment is just a few steps from the remarkably beautiful Duomo (which you can see from the living area and bathroom). Two large bottles of water were waiting for us in the fridge - very welcome after a long journey on a hot day!
it is the perfect overnight stay on Your tour through Italy. The position is very comfortable along the road and not far from the highway A1. The staff is very friendly and our room was clean. The point is also that it offers You a very nice walk into the romantic narrow little streets of Orvieto and to see the wonderful and unique Duomo di Orvieto. You must see it.............
Orvieto
Wonderful, quiet room near the Duomo. Easy to find and staff was great to work with. Large room with ample sized bathroom. We had the ability to leave our bags at reception upon check out so we could see a few more sights before going to the train - so helpful! Tasty breakfast set us up for the day. Excellent dinner suggestion in town. Highly recommend.
The breakfast was delicious, the staff were very patient and kind, the room was swept and beds made every day, and the room was the perfect size for our little family. The best part is the hotel is right next to the Duomo and museums and in walking distance of some delicious restaurants, cafes, and shopping.

We started our trip to Italy in a hotel in Rome🤢 after bearing it for one night I decided to look up hotels in Orvieto and this one looked and fitted the price. I have previously been to Orvieto hence why we came out the city. What an excellent room. Clean, comfy, modern and quiet. Do not hesitate to book.
Beautiful, cosy hotel right in the heart of Orvieto. The room and bath are exceptional. The staff are attentive and the friendliest we’ve met. We’d like to praise Billaid and Jude especially for making our stay most delightful.

The Apartment is beautiful and has the perfect location in the piazza next to the duomo.. which the owner will remind you about if there is anything else lacking.. it is all about location and not about hospitality.
