Small village up the Amalfi coast - a nice market place with bars and restaurants.
Taking the bus to Amalfi is easy.
Is is away from the busy spots and you can enjoy the views without the crowds.
Depends on what you want - I would not recommend for young party people.

The host was so nice and very helpful. He collected our luggage and drove us to the villa. Parking was easy to find. He also gave us good information on the area and things to do. His communication was fantastic. Easy to find from drop off point by valet shuttle.
Negative is a long walk uphill so take good hiking shoes. Not suitable for elderly.

Ravello is a nice quiet Town on Amalfi Coast, it can be considered in the middle of Amalfi Coast (Salerno to Positano)
Ravello is very optimum option to stay due to reasonable Value for money and hotel prices compared to Amalfi and Positano
There is a 1 to 2 buses per hour starting 7 AM working till 10 PM between Ravello and Amalfi where you can use it to go to Amalfi (SITA bus - 1.5 EUROs) and then from Amalfi to Positano either Ferry of 10 EUROs or another SITA bus of 2.3 EUROS so no worries about how to get to Positano or Amalfi from Ravello
Same from Amalfi (once reached from Ravello) you can go as well to Salerno / Miori or Minori (other towns on the Coast)

Ravello was wonderful.
Ravello was wonderful. It is exceptionally beautiful and is more peaceful than Amalfi or Positano. It is a hidden gem from my perspective with magnificent views of the sea. There are steps everywhere so you definitely need to wear flat or comfortable walking shoes, but it is also exceptionally clean and the people are gracious and welcoming!

Ravello is a perfect spot in the Amalfi Coast.
Ravello is a perfect spot in the Amalfi Coast. It is away from the beach and the crowded towns of Amalfi and Positano but has easy access to them via the local bus network and ferries. Other beachside towns (Minori and Maiori) can be walked to with the local buses providing transport back. Being higher, Ravello has stunning views and gets lovely breezes. It is also close to the Valle delle Ferriere walk, hosts Villa Rufolo and Villa Cimbrone and many excellent restaurants and shops. Really a perfect spot to holiday. My favourite restaurant was Le Cucina di Sofi in via Rome - honest simple tasty food, although the Garden Ristorante and Bella Vista sul Mare were also very good. There is a music festival in June each year and while I missed it, I can imagine how good it would be because the ‘stepped’ area of the town is a natural amphitheater.
Be prepared for stairs when visiting the Amalfi coast. The best places to stay involve stairs. Pack as light as possible as buses and ferries and streets are crowded and because of the stairs. I discourage driving the a Amalfi Coast. There is one major road, it is clogged from morning to night and was not built for the sizes of vehicle that use it today so is mayhem. Taxies are very overpriced. I recommend that you use the frequent buses and shuttle services instead.

Ravello is on top of the mountain and not a seaside town...
Ravello is on top of the mountain and not a seaside town like other Amalfi coast towns. There is a nice charm in the town itself. For those that don't rent a car, there is a bus that takes you to Amalfi. There are also paths that take you to Minori and Amalfi, just remember that the elevation of Ravello is at 1000ft, so walking to the other towns will require a walk back up the mountain or the use of a bus or taxi.
Anna was super welcoming and helpful! When we got there after a long day of travelling she made us a coffee and gave us a map highlighting all the restaurants/attractions/parking etc and made us feel very welcome. The hotel was very clean, has a great view and an amazing location - you can easily walk anywhere in Ravello. Breakfast was lovely too.
It’s very clean and has a very big shower facility. The staffs are extremely friendly and always willing to offer help. The breakfast has decent selection of fresh bread, dairy products and fruits. It is located near the peak of Ravello with stunning views of the Amalfi Coast and it feels very peaceful to stay in the hotel.
