The photos here belie the beauty of this Tuscan apartment. In short, it is a jewel. Not only is every corner of it finished with exquisite craftsmanship and dotted with beautiful antiques, it is outfitted with everything a traveler could ever want. What surprised me was how comfortably it accommodated a family with a small child. Some reviewers expressed concern over the entry stairs, for instance, but we found them perfectly safe and not an issue in the least; our toddler navigated them with aplomb. In addition, our host could not have welcomed us more warmly! The attention to detail offered here— from this beautiful and comfortably appointed ‘home away from home’ to the hosts’ gracious hospitality— makes this accommodation an 11 on the 1-to-10 scale.

I loved the location - 50 minutes from Florence by car or 40...

I loved the location - 50 minutes from Florence by car or 40 minutes by train, the people were friendly - beautiful shops, restaurants, pasticeria ( pastry shop), supermarket (Coop) - everything you need at your fingertips. Everything was within 90 minutes drive to Pisa and Lucca, Siena, San Gimignano and Volterra, Cjhianti region and we even went to Assisi and Spello in Umbria ( 2 hours away but so worth it). For Florence we took the train we parked the car at the train station and the adult ticket is 4 euros one way.

Rufina was not our primary destination.

Rufina was not our primary destination. We were visiting Gricigliano about 20 minutes from Rufina and did not spend much time in Rufina. Rufina has a co-op supermarket, an ATM, and a petrol station so it is handy for those.

It is a beautiful and rustic house in Tuscany! At the top of a hill with absolute quiet and stunning views. The sunsets are amazing by the pool! The staff are absolutely charming and the food extraordinary! We can highly recommend all of the dishes, especially the meat. May it be the different types of pasta, the Tagliata di Manzo, Bistecca Fiorentina or the Filet de Re, once the food embraces your taste buds you feel like god kisses your senses!
