Taormina Garden Hotel, hotel in Taormina

Set on the east coast of Sicily, Garden Hotel is just 164 feet from the sandy beaches of Taormina. It features a lovely relaxing garden with tables, chairs and sun loungers.

The best parts were our host Gianluca and a special acknowledgement to Angelo, who ran the kitchen for breakfasts and dinner - he is an absolutely wonderful person!! The joy that Angelo brings to the hotel is infectious, and certainly added much to the overall atmosphere and therefore enjoyment of our stay. The position of the hotel is excellent, just off the main road with private parking, but the rooms are at enough distance that there is no disturbance from road noise. A relatively short walk down the stairs to the beach that has establishments for chair and umbrella rentals as well as food and drinks. The room was comfortable and quiet with good bathrooms and showers. Very beautiful courtyards with beautiful trees, bushes and flowering plants that Gianluca attends to (very well, I will add). Very beautiful always, especially at night. Taormina center is easily accessible by car (parking structures with shuttle), taxi or using the nearby funicular. Taormina has much to offer, but of course, very touristy. We did drive up to Castelmola - highly recommended as another village to visit.

FAQs about hotels in Taormina

The Jewel in the Sicilian Crown

As you admire crystal-clear turquoise seas from a Taormina piazza drenched with vibrant pink blossoms, you might have to pinch yourself. The amazing location of this picturesque town is its crowning glory.

But wait, there's more. Surrounded by trees just below the main town, the largely intact Greek Theater has amazing views across the stage towards Mount Etna fuming away in the distance. Great summer performances are still held here, and several of the town’s bars feature live music.

Corso Umberto I runs through the heart of Taormina, from Piazza Corvaja to the 13th-century cathedral, and houses many shops and cafés. Midway along is Piazza IX Aprile, with a clock tower and church overlooked by a rocky hill topped with a castle.

A cable car runs from the town down to the beautiful Taormina beaches (where the train station is also found). At the center of the W-shaped bay is little Isola Bella, an island nature reserve. To the southwest, there's a long stretch of sand at Giardini-Naxos, and to the north is the bay by Mazzaró.

As you'd expect of Sicily’s most beautiful resort, there's no shortage of places to stay in Taormina on Booking.com, including 5-star hotels on the beach, centrally located apartments and luxury B&Bs.

Stunning place. Loads to do and see.

Stunning place. Loads to do and see. Super expensive part of Sicily, felt a bit ripped off (taxis! Sunbeds! Wine!). Loads of places to eat and generally great quality food. Might be challenging for older people or with mobility issues as so many hills. Cable car between beach and town was fab and reliable but expensive to keep going up and down. Parking impossible so I’m glad we didn’t have a car. Station is several km away so need taxi, 25 euros for a 5 min ride? If coming for a beach holiday only stay in a hotel that has its own sunbeds otherwise crazy expensive to rent, or very uncomfortable to lie on the cobbles. The sort of place you need to plan well before you visit to get the best out of it.

Really beautiful area and would recommend to visit. We stayed a week which was just a bit too long. I would think 4-5 days is enough. Would advise people using the taxi service, to check price beforehand as we found that it differed by as much as €10 for the same visit.

Beautiful place but maybe a bit too crowdy in the high summer season. The small beaches were intimate, the see crystal clear and refreshing. Taormina Old Town beautiful but extremely full of people. We enjoyed our relax in Lido la Pigna beach club - the staff and service were the best ever. We also enjoyed the restaurant offer there. One of the most spectacular places is the natural reservation on Isola Bella.

The best is the views very romantic. My advice eat arancini norma, if you dont like aubergine you will start liking it, take a Messina beer with Cristalli di sale and go to the beach, make sure to wear shoes if you are going into the water cause is full of pebles and enjoy.

This was a cycling trip and a wedding. The cycling was magnificent...so much to see. I always like adventures on bike rides so have no fear of taking any road! You are either climbing up or going down! Cycling around allowed us to really see some of the towns, stopping for coffee and pastries along the way which is a MUST! Spent two weeks here and still not enough time. Taormina - what can i say, have never been to a town like this before, so much history. Do take the time to visit the sights especially, the Greek theatre. Isla Bella embedded with history and worth the visit

Dreamy place with fab views, gorgeous foliage, an ancient ampitheatre, nature reserve island, old lovely buildings. Not cheap! Corsa Umberto walking fashion parade, with lots of designer shops, posh watch and leather vendors, interspersed with other stuff.Bars and restuarants off lanes to the side. Some fab food, wine and Cocktails .Generally people gave good service- hotel, taxi, some shops and restaurants, but it seems there is still the machismo of some dining venues. The dismissive, or rude attitude of a few places brings the experience down a little, but overall absolutely gorgeous place to stay and enjoy. We went to the Valley of the Temples which was great, Isola Bella, the amphitheatre, and the local beach.Spent most time on or near Corsa Umberto, eating, drrinking, walking, shopping or at our hotel, enjoying a swim or the views.

Perfect location just off the western end of the main pedestrian thoroughfare. This is a small family run 'boutique' hotel which has recently been renovated to a very high standard. Our room was quiet with good aircon and good buffet breakfast. Unlike some accommodation in Taormina, this hotel has a garage with parking for approx. 5 cars but strongly advise you pre-book. You will need satnav to find hotel. The owner (and staff) is very helpful and friendly and will guide you in/out of the garage.

The hotel is so homely! Decorated in the most beautiful artwork. It's also one of the cleanest places I've ever stayed. The location was perfect - an extremely short walk to the centre of Taormina. The views from the rooftop were amazing - I just wish I had more time to utilise it! The staff were so helpful - Luca especially was available to discuss and make suggestions to our group at any time via WhatsApp. It exceeded my expectation.

Hotel is in an excellent location, only 100m from the entrance to the town centre. The view from the balcony, and other hotel areas such as the pool area and breakfast room, is stunning. Small, but lovely pool area with bar. Bright, airy breakfast room with an excellent buffet. Good car parking arrangement which is essential in Taormina - car collected and returned for 20 euro per night.
