FAQs about hotels in Taormina

The Jewel in the Sicilian Crown

As you admire crystal-clear turquoise seas from a Taormina piazza drenched with vibrant pink blossoms, you might have to pinch yourself. The amazing location of this picturesque town is its crowning glory.

But wait, there's more. Surrounded by trees just below the main town, the largely intact Greek Theater has amazing views across the stage towards Mount Etna fuming away in the distance. Great summer performances are still held here, and several of the town’s bars feature live music.

Corso Umberto I runs through the heart of Taormina, from Piazza Corvaja to the 13th-century cathedral, and houses many shops and cafés. Midway along is Piazza IX Aprile, with a clock tower and church overlooked by a rocky hill topped with a castle.

A cable car runs from the town down to the beautiful Taormina beaches (where the train station is also found). At the center of the W-shaped bay is little Isola Bella, an island nature reserve. To the southwest, there's a long stretch of sand at Giardini-Naxos, and to the north is the bay by Mazzaró.

As you'd expect of Sicily’s most beautiful resort, there's no shortage of places to stay in Taormina on Booking.com, including 5-star hotels on the beach, centrally located apartments and luxury B&Bs.

    Beautiful place!

Beautiful place! It is more pricey than other spots in Sicily but it’s certainly worth it. I wish I had more days to explore the surrounding towns - but I’ll be back. You’d need more than a weekend to explore this old town!

Taormina is beautiful it is the best of both worlds with seaside and high end shopping, restaurants etc. Best of all you have a cable car to escort you to both. Just bear in mind there are many steps down to the sea and beaches are pebbled. You will need good water shoes. If you are physically challenged allow for more time getting to destinations including your apartment or hotel door because everything is built into the mountainside.

Taormina is a very old charming town high up on a hill. If you stay up in the town it is busy, and crowded in the summer. The views are spectacular and there are lots of cute restaurants with great views. The food is fantastic, gelato, granita, arancini etc. You can take the Faniculare up to the town and down the hill but it is often not working because of high winds or other weather. Beautiful Churches! Lots of seaside beach clubs. Worth the trip.

An absolutely incredible hotel. Perfect location, away from the main hustle and bustle of Taormina centre but not super far out. Easily walkable (albeit up a hill!) although the hotel offers a free shuttle every evening (just book in advance). The bedrooms were beautiful and so comfortable. Breakfast was amazing and so much choice. Also loved the late night bar, the cocktail menu was fabulous! Overall a brilliant experience, would definitely come back!

Amazing view from the room and in general from the hotel terraces, not sure if all rooms have a view to the ocean but mine did and truly it was incredible. The installations are great they feel like a higher star ranked hotel, the attention from staff is very good and the breakfast is the best i had in my trip to Italy. Considering the price for everything in Taormina i consider this hotel as a great cost-benefit option
