This majestic Norman castle is set on a hill overlooking the Volturno River and the town of Limatola, 0.6 mi away. It was a castle! It exceeded our expectations. The castle is located in a remote, small town. We felt like we were among locals and not a “touristy” city. Loved it!
La Pietra d'Argento is located in Casertavecchia. Some units feature a balcony and/or a terrace with sea or city views. The bed and breakfast offers a continental or Italian breakfast. The apartment was filled with character and history. The village of Casertavecchia is medieval and quite alluring though quiet and not filled with many visitors. It is high up on a hill you can see in the distance as you drive up from Caserta. It is a special place. Sara and Luca welcomed us and made us feel right at home. The views from the roof top are spectacular!
Featuring a garden, Conte Spencer offers classic accommodations in a 16th-century building. Located in the medieval village of Casertavecchia, the property is 6.2 mi from the center of Caserta. The owner was really nice and helpful and friendly to talk to and with no English also forced me to speak that much of italian that I would have never imagined! He picked us up at the Caserta station and drove us up to the hill. He made hot chocolate for my mum as it was cold and put fire into the fireplace. The breakfast was big but mostly sweet. We could keep the key and leave the luggage until the next afternoon before we left for the bus.
Set on the hillside above Caserta, 15 minutes' drive away, Hotel Caserta Antica enjoys a peaceful, panoramic location between 2 medieval villages. You can sunbathe by the large outdoor pool. Clean helpful staff even though they spoke very little English
