We booked and paid for a specific room but when we got there it was apparently not available so they put us in another room. They said it was big and was the same price. It wasn’t what we expected so was disappointing. But to summarize. The room was clean and we were just there for one night as we were hiking the Francigena. The location is about a 15-20 minute walk from the actual path. When we arrived it was a bit chaotic at check in because the restaurant was busy and the se people that worked the restaurant handled check In. Also apparently they had computer problems. But we got into our room and it was fine. Lunch service was slow and people who arrived after us seemed to be prioritized and got their food before we did, but no problem. Maybe they were special regulars. But we were literally starving as we’d just completed a 12 mile hike. But when we got the food it was just so delicious. We decided to have dinner here because they are know for their meats. So many wonderful choices Our dinner was absolutely amazing so if you are staying here do not miss having dinner. The chef cooks the steaks to perfection and is incredibly nice. And the nighttime wait staff did an amazing job. Looked like just two people handling the entire restaurant. So whether you’re staying here or not, you need to stop in for a big steak. I’d go back just for that.
