About Vernazza

Vernazza, Italy, is a charming village nestled in the heart of the Italian Riviera. Known for its mild Mediterranean climate, it offers warm summers and mild winters, with temperatures averaging 80°F in July and 50°F in January.

This picturesque town is a part of the Cinque Terre, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Visitors can explore the colorful houses and narrow lanes, hike the scenic trails, or visit the iconic Santa Margherita di Antiochia Church. Walking is the best way to get around, as the village is car-free.

Vernazza is steeped in rich culture and tradition. The local cuisine is a gastronomic delight, featuring dishes like 'Trofie al Pesto' (short, thin pasta with basil pesto) and 'Acciughe sotto EVO' (anchovies preserved in extra virgin olive oil). We loved Vernazza.

We loved Vernazza. We enjoyed the views, the little harbor was beautiful. The Tower views over looking the ocean and village was fantastic! Our experiences in several restaurants were excellent. Plenty of shops for Souvenirs. Vernazza was also a great home base to visit the other villages of Cinque Terre. Our favorite Village.

City is beautiful with fine restaurants, but nearly impossible during the day when tour groups and day tourists overrun the town. Hiking was even difficult due to the number of persons on the trails. Trains between Cinque Terra towns were extremely crowded and unconfortable and station boarding platforms were shoulder to shoulder with passengers. We used the ferries instead of train if not in a hurry.

The towns of the Cinque Terra are lovely alright, and worth a visit. But, when I was there, it was a bit Venice-y - crawling with (other ;-) tourists. We booked an overnight in a hotel in Vernazza and it was in the evening, when the trainloads of day-trippers had departed, that you got a real feel for the place. My advice: don't do a day trip, do stay over at least one night.

Great little village on the water on the Cinque Terre.

Great little village on the water on the Cinque Terre. Lots of stairs and uphill climbs. Great for the young and fit but for the older generation and not so fit don't bring large suitcases. For the 65+ make sure you accommodation in on the bottom floor to avoid lots of stairs.

If you are looking for a super convenient location, this is it. There is a great view of the main street. There is not a view of the ocean or from a high vantage point just so the traveler is aware. But you are right in the center of town and close to everything. It definitively exceeding our expectations.

We had a lovely stay in this beautiful location at the centre of Vernazza. The apartment was clean and roomy and had a lot of windows. The bed was comfortable. The mini kitchen had space to cook something simple, as well as a large fridge. The shower was nice. In the middle of Italian summer it was on the warm side inside, but the shutters could be closed and there was a working fan. Communication with the host was quick and easy and late check-in was easily arranged. The wifi worked well for the first few days. All in all, we would come back!

The location of the house is good, in a peaceful place in a vineyard above Vernazza. The wiew over the hills of Cinque Terre was incredible. The house had everything we needed for a 3-day stay and the hosts were very helpful in advising us about the area. We came to Vernazza by train and then used a bus to get to the house. We used the days to explore the five towns of Cinque Terra and some of the trails between them and it was great to be able to start the walk at the house and walk down the hill to Vernazza and Corniglia

The check-in place was easy to miss; just a small cafe bar. But, after we were guided to our room (up many steps!) we were in awe! The view of the sea is spectacular beyond words. The breakfast on the high deck was breath-taking. We also ate dinner at the Gianni Franzi restaurant, which had excellent dishes, AND, a celebrity himself, Gianni Franzi, who will autograph his book for hotel guests. This stay was a highlight of our excursions through northern Italy!

The location of this hotel was amazing!!!! I felt lucky to be there in the heart of Vernazza and the restaurants. It was very clean and the staff (Lorenzo) was so helpful and kind. Another gentleman helped us carry our bags downstairs when we were checking out. Very cozy and quiet. Vernazza was my favorite. AC was good. We were there in September so the temp outside wasn't too hot. I would definitely stay here again!

A hand-hewn stone abode with gorgeous views and a touching and authentic back story like few you may encounter in a life-time. All nestled in Vernazza and the UNESCO protected site of Le Cinque Terre. A place of unique beauty and impact. Signor Giuliano, his nephew Luri, and staff, define Hospitality from proper Wifi to bottles of cold water in the fridge, no aspect of caring is neglected here.

Vernazza was very beautiful and the check-in was pretty easy. The windy roads to the parking lot, located a little above vernazza, were also really fun! The airco made sure the room was cool quickly. The shuttle service and parking lot were very fast and friendly with their service just like the hotel staff.

La Luna is located in the middle of Main Street of Vernazza. The most beautiful city in Cinque Terre. Just 2 minutes from wonderful port. Easy access for people coming by trains. Place was extremely clean and cosy. Paola is excellent host and her hospitality is beyond expectations. Thank you for everything.

The hotel is just off of the main street in Vernazza, super centrally located. The room I chose had a living area separate from the bedroom and bathroom which made the apartment feel super spacious and a few windows that you could open. There was a mini fridge and a coffee maker too.

THE VIEW!! The location was excellent. The room was very well appointed. Don’t know about the kitchen. We only used the cork screw and the wine glasses. The there were several excellent restaurants. Be ready for stairs everywhere in Cinque Terre. The view was incredible.

Stunning view - incredible- over the sea and cinque terre towns below. It’s quite remote and blissfully quiet after a noisy crowded day in the cinque terre villages. our apartment was lovely and spotless, and on-site staff couldn’t be more helpful.
