FAQs about hotels in Verona

A Shakespearean Fairytale

A darling of Shakespeare, beautiful Verona is the literary home of Romeo and Juliet. The medieval families of Montague and Capulet immortalized in the tragic play did actually exist and some buildings relating to the Montagues are still present.

Sorry to disappoint, but the place purporting to have been Juliet's house in Verona was not actually where she lived. However, it’s still worth suspending reality for a while and stepping out onto the balcony to see if Romeo turns up.

Another of the must-see Verona sights is the Arena, a largely intact Roman amphitheater which is now the spectacular setting for outdoor summer operas. Smaller Roman relics include the stone bridge that crosses the river by the Roman theater whose remains are partly beneath a house.

The city’s narrow streets house many cafes and restaurants which have cheaper fare than the touristy ones by the Arena, although admittedly the views are less impressive. Life in Verona is laid back and elegant, so expect to see some well-heeled Italians on a post-dinner passeggiata.

Verona Airport is a little out of town, so you’ll need to take a bus to get to your Verona hotel, apartment or B&B. Book with Booking.com for the best choice.

This is a beautiful city in a really nice part of Italy.

This is a beautiful city in a really nice part of Italy. Verona is a 1 or 2 day break with enough to do to cover that amount of time. We bought a Verona card which meant we could visit all the sites free of charge and jump the queue which was worth its weight in gold we loved it. The city itself has beautiful buildings and piazzas and we went on Valentine’s Day during their festival which was a fantastic experience including dancing live music and other activities. We recommend doing a day trip by train to Garda, Venice, Bologna or Milan which are all within 2 hours approx and the trains from Verona station are so easy to use and cheap!

This is the second time I have been to Verona in January,...

This is the second time I have been to Verona in January, and it is a great place to visit. Quiet, great weather, easy to get around and everyone is friendly - great sights and to me it was like visiting a mini Rome. We stayed 2 - 3 nights and it was just the right amount of time, and it is a great place to use as a base to visit outside the city if need.

Verona is a lovely city break spot.

Verona is a lovely city break spot. We hadn't realised Venice was only 1 hour 20 minutes away or Lake Garda just 15 - both by train. We had a 3 night stay and did both trips. We ate in a few places and were happy with all of them. It is easily accessible and would definitely go again.

I had not been to Verona before. I really liked it. Was very walkable, they had a square with vendors selling scarfs, gloves, wine toppers, etc. We bought a few. We went to some great restaurants and had some gelato at Vinchi.

we absolutely loved our stay at casa corvina! we spent two nights here when first arriving to Italy - the location could not be more perfect for spending our time exploring verona. Andrea was a fabulous host who met us and helped us with our bags, made some great recommendations and even helped get us a dinner reservation at one of his favorite restaurants. beautiful views from the apartment, at all times of the day! we would stay here again without a moments hesitation should we ever return to verona.

Wonderful welcome and hospitality from the general manager, Alessandro. The rooms were beautiful and the views were out of this world! We were very fortunate to stay in the top suite with both bath and balcony overlooking Verona. We could not have found a more romantic hotel. Breakfast was delicious with lots of choice and presented beautifully. It is a very small boutique hotel, so it felt like a home rather than a hotel. We had 2 bikes which the manager kindly let us store in his garage.

I liked everything about this stay. It's lovely, large, private, on a nice street, quiet. I wish I could have stayed longer. Two nights is enough to see Verona but this would make a good base if you're seeing other cities nearby as well. I would have been happy if this were my only hotel of the trip. Is just a 5 minutes walk to the center, Very good pizza restaurant around the block. Good shopping in Verona. Pretty city. Very nice check in man.

An absolutely beautiful apartment. Tremendous value for money with a beautiful setting only minutes walk from the heart of Verona. Arthur was absolutely incredible and I wouldn’t have seen HALF of Verona without Arthur’s advice and also his assistance with restaurants and recommendations. An amazing asset to the Lady Capulet apartments in what was my absolute favourite stay on my recent “tour” of Italy. Made the better by Arthur

Property was beautiful, had a delicious breakfast, comfortable, large room and very welcoming staff. The staff member (not sure of his name) who welcomed us at the desk when we first arrived was friendly and kind, and gave us great recommendations on how to see Verona in a short period of time, and recommended a restaurant which we went to and had the best dinner we had in Italy. Really great service!

This was a decent location for a walk into Verona if you have a car and don’t want to drive in the ZTL. Parking facility was very secure, and Hotel was easy to navigate to (there’s a reserved parking spot for temp check in). Shower was nice, good pressure, hot water. It’s not luxury, but it’s nice enough to stay for a night or two to explore Verona (if that’s what you’re really there for).
