The resort itself is well maintained with a good range of food and drink available. Staff are polite and efficient. Facilities are good and not overcrowded. If you want a more peaceful break go for Cornwall Beach resort (which is next door) although you can use these facilities if you stay at Montego Beach anyway. You can expect a relaxing time although the resort is quite loud in the evening from the entertainment and other guests drinking and having a good time. You will not go hungry - food and drink are available almost all the time. The road outside the resort is well secured and so it's quite safe to go out and explore the immediate area for shops, clubs and restaurants.
Stopped for one night on the way to Ocho Rios. Montego Bay has changed for the worse since I lived there. I would not stay there unless it is in all inclusive. Doctor's Cave Beach is still great.
The hotel had no booking for us, despite emailing us a confirmation. This caused huge stress. Pay a lot more to upgrade or take “the last, most unwanted “ room on this huge site! Totally unacceptable and spoilt our whole stay so my only useful tip is call to confirm the exact dates and type of room you think you booked before arriving! There is significant pressure to pay for an upgrade on arrival.Don’t fall for it….
My experience with Montego Bay was very poor. I was traveling with three women, two of which were my daughters. We were prayed upon by the locals and did not feel safe even parking our rental car for coffee at Starbucks in broad daylight. I would not recommend Montego Bay for a travel destination.
Great location . We were able to walk outside the resort and go shopping. Taxis are conveniently located outside the resort as well so transportation was not an issue if you didn't want to use resort transportation .
The weather and beaches are amazing. We loved our resort (The S Hotel - Boutique All-inclusive) and rarely left the resort. When we did venture out, the locals were friendly enough but we weren’t fond of the vendors hassling us to come into their shops and definitely didn’t appreciate the multiple attempts to sell us weed. I get it’s legal and many visitors are interested, but one “no thank you” should be enough. It didn’t impact our enjoyment of Jamaica but made us stay on-property more than in other Caribbean locations that we’ve visited (Cancun, Cozumel, Nassau, Oranjestad, Willemstad, etc.).
Montego Bay
great location, clean and tidy , Dudley was a great help if you need anything even bringing us fruit, there’s a shop over the road, it’s very peaceful and quiet, will always stay here when I come to Montego Bay. security is absolutely great. taxi services continuous though out the day if you need it. great place to stay contact with the owner was very good and easy if you need anything she is very friendly and solves any issue straight away. great stay would recommend this property .
Montego Bay
Nice little appartement. The place was very clean and the bed was very comfortable. It's close to area attractions like the Rose Hall Great House. It's a great place to stay if you are like me and prefer to get to know people and the culture and not just other tourists in an all inclusive resort. The property is gated and felt secure. Annmareen was so sweet and helpful. She actually called me when she saw me leaving and noticed I took a wrong turn. Would definitely stay here again.
we didn’t make it past the gate, it looked to be okay but the property manager ( if that was who she was) made me very uncomfortable. when we arrived we waited for about an hour to be let in the gate and downtown Montego Bay is no place for nice family without a man present. Once the person arrived they wanted our id’s and cash for the room and told they had a plumbing leak. Thankfully the people noticed us waiting and stayed with us to redirect us to a secure hotel.
Toby’s is awesome, I’ll always stay there when in Montego Bay. Easy access to and from the airport, couple of minutes from Doctor’s Cave beach and the Buccaneer Beach right on the hip strip. The grounds are very well maintained and the architecture, while older, has a been taken care of extremely well keeping an authentic Jamaican vibe. Very, very clean!!! Staff is helpful and super friendly. Skip the all inclusives and stay at Toby’s.
The beach is great. This facility does well above average labeling gluten free/ dairy free options. I’ve stayed at 3 other more expensive resorts that didn’t come close to the Holiday Inn. Your facility is superior in comparison to labeling food for gluten free/ dairy free allergies. Most of the staff were very nice and welcoming. The hotel is well Maintained and I always describe as an excellent value.
Montego Bay
I enjoyed the beach, it was clean, the snack bar serves the best burgers and fried wings. I also liked that the hotel was located near local stores and craft market to go shopping and mingle with people of the land. I also appreciated the warm and good vibes some of the staff expressed as they served. This made my stay at Royal Decameron Montego Bay worth while, so much so I extended my stay 2more nights.🤩👍.
Montego Bay
Alene was very helpful and friendly and on hand to answer questions etc. The rooms were clean and well set out, air conditioning worked, hot water available TVs and fridges in rooms. Lots of towels available. Swimming pool was great, nice balcony area outside the rooms to sit out on. The area was good, quiet and safe- about 10 minute drive into Montego Bay centre. Really nice place to stay!
Montego Bay
The private beach cove is just lovely, and Caramel who hosts entertainment was good as were the party at the beach at night, lady at the tour desk was very friendly and helpful about hiring a car , the hotel is in a good location for travelling to Negril and Ochos Rios and if you are feeling adventurous go into Montego bay town, you must also go to Margaretaville to go down the slide
I always love this hotel its literally the best hotel, its nice and clean and right next to the beach, great food and a spa, its literally heaven lol and its right next to the margaritaville for a great night life for ladies night on Thursdays, to be honest its the best hotel in Montego Bay in my opinion.
