Wadi Rum is a magical place, paradise for hiking, trekking, climbing, camel and jeep tours. We only spent 1 day / 2 nights, but these were the most special of a 2-weel long trip: first night spent in a truly luxury tent, 2nd night out in the open under the stars - wonderful experience. Communication is difficult once there, as limited mobile reception, but staff at different place were unbelievable helpful, and made everything possible and very smooth. We spent the day riding a camel and some sand-boarding during a much needed break from the camel riding. Next time, I would spend more time climibing and hiking, but the day-long camel trip is a must!
I was in Wadi Rum during the severe winter season... It was very cold... It was cloudy and cold and hence couldn't do star gazing. But still it was stunning experience. Hence next time Inshallah...I would like to come back in spring time..when its neither too hot nor too cold & night sky is clear... ;)
All staff were very friendly and anxious to make our short trip as smooth as possible. We took a short desert trip which was amazing and then slept overnight in the camp. The food and entertainment were excellent and to see the stars at night without any light pollution was a real bonus.
Eid was an absolute joy to be hosted by. Him and his staff did everything perfectly and i was really well taken care of by him, his brother and his staff of two. As soon as i arrived Eid came and drove me to the camp, which were located on the sunset side of the desert, so you could enjoy the magnificient sunset every evening. I felt very safe and very much in Company of friends. During the stay, Eid and his staff took care of breakfast, lunch, dinner and tea/coffee whenever i wanted. I really enjoyed the solitude in the desert with no connection to the world outside of the desert. Eid has very good english skills and were able to communicate on every level. Bonus: As i were alone in the camp, Eid offered to go to his cousins Camp for dinner both nights, to have additional Company and talk to some other tourists. One of the nights i even got included in the family and were able to meet his brothers family, while they made dinner in the desert beneath the stars. Thank you!
I've never been anywhere like it. It is like being on another planet! The views are really exceptional. We stayed one night and did a four hour jeep tour and a star gazing evening at Rum Sky. The stargazing was fantastic. Don't miss up the chance to see such clear skies and the hosts were brilliant. The jeep tour was so much fun. It took us to some of the main sights - Lawrence of Arabias house, the Um Frouth rock bridge, Nabataean rock art, bedouin camps, canyons, and sights from the film The Martian. It's really easy to get too. We travelled there from Petra which took about an hour and a half for 35JOD and it was only a 30JOD taxi ride back to King Hussein airport which took about 45 mins to an hour.
A tour of wadi rum included Lawrence springs, Lawrence house, off road driving through the desert on the back of a pick up, climbing sand dunes, amazing scenery on the top of the rocky cliffs as well as some cool canyons and rock formations that your guide will highlight to you. I paid 80JD for a 4hr tour
We were a family of seven - 2 elderly grandparents, 2 middle aged adults and 2 kids ages 5 and 7 - and spent two wonderful star-filled nights at Jamal Rum Camp. Some of the things we enjoyed were the great hosts; beautiful setting in a remote corner of Wadi Rum; good, fresh food (including lots of vegetarian options); en suite rooms for the grandparents; easy to hike right out of the camp; really fun jeep tour of the Wadi; amazing stargazing; a nice 10k sunrise desert run for dad; and a huge sandbox for the kids. All in all a great trip.
Authentic Bedouin camp with clean bathrooms and hot showers. Mohamed is doing a great job in ensuring the guests are happy at his camp. He maintains a high standard of cleanliness - in the tent, washrooms and common room. I like the delicious dinner prepared underground. I chose Wadi Rum Bedouin Camp over the more luxurious facilities because it’s more eco-friendly and more authentic. I believe the desert shouldn’t be over-developed.
The hospitality and environment created by Khalid, Abdul Rahman and the rest of the guys was second to none. The stay in wadi rum at the dream camp was a highlight of our trip and I would recommend it to anyone. I intend to return to Jordan in the future and when I do I will stay at the dream camp for sure!! I cannot recommend this place enough. Thanks for everything guys!
Mohamed is an awesome guy and all the guys there will make you feel great and have an amazing time! The food was the best we had in Jordan, the bathroom has shower with hot water and the beds in the camp are as clean as in any decent hotel. What else to ask from a camp in the desert? Don't miss the Jeep experience with Ahmed!
The Wadi Rum Jordan Camp was an extraordinary experience. Ali was a wonderful host who communicated effectively to make sure my stay was positive and fun. The location is terrific - such beautiful sunset views and a great place for a quiet morning walk. I highly recommend staying here.

Ive been to 6 camps in wadi rum and this was the best by FAR. Everything, huge variety of food for both dinner and breakfast, spacious tents even the standard ones. En suite bathroom, clean. Perfect desert experience
My girlfriend and I stayed on 12th February for one night at Wadi Rum Starlight Camp. First of all: Many thanks to Suleiman (the owner of the camp) and Hashem, our wonderful & amazing guide and driver! :-) You both are really awesome, especially we had such a wonderful time with Hashem and his friend. He showed us the most interesting places (we booked a 5 hours jeep tour), he is very very polite, friendly, open-minded and felt us always welcome. After the day trip he brought us to the camp for sunset-- we loved being together with him and other beduins, philosophizing about life etc. (we all sat together in a big tent with an open fireplace). Also they cooked traditional & authentic beduin dinner for us - great experience! We stayed in a full star tent (i.e. with glass front side - so that you can watch the stars during night and always have an amazing view). Can highly recommend it! During night time it got quite cold (winter in the desert can be cold at night!), which is why we had to ask for few more blankets with which they have kindly provided us. To briefly sum up our experience: Great host, great people, great camp, great tour - unique and beautiful experience -> full recommendation! :-) We will definitely come back!!! Best, Jakob
