The staff was extremely friendly. I arrived rather late in the evening but was still greeted by two very energetic and helpful staff at the front desk. One of the staff had spent few years in Taiwan and has excellent command of Chinese. Had some really meaningful conversation and experienced the warm hospitality of Japan.

The host was incredibly kind in giving us a lift to many different places, at his own suggestion. We managed to immensely enjoy abashiri from this location. The rooms are spacious and well-appointed for their age. Beds were comfortable enough. Couldn't fault the breakfast.

Beautiful cottage for family. Each cottage could easily fit 6 adults, with the 3 double beds and there is even a second floor to add mattresses if youd wish. BBQ facilities were great, there is a large FOODBASIC market 10mins drive away with great selection. Toilet is large, and even has a jacuzzi (though it wasnt working).

We dined at one of the waterfont restaurants for lunch and had a great meal and very entertaining and helpful chef. Afterwards we took in the local sights and walked out along the breakwater. Eventually we found a delightful coffee shop/antique store and had tea and homemade cakes. The outdoors was chilly after dark but with a refreshing walk we were able to locate the local supermarket, possibly a bit late, as there were slim pickins. We didn't get to the emu park, afterall.... we're Australian. Sorry we missed the museum, but we left early the next morning to catch the ferry from Tomakomai to Akita.

We had a main street facing room on top floor so enjoyed watching all the comings and goings outside whilst sitting on wide window sill as a snow storm blew in. The heated blow air vent was built into window sill so nice and cosy whilst it was chilly outside. Lovely hotel, slightly dated but still grand inside and very spacious room. Recommend the cruises and visiting glass museum. All people in area are very cheerful and glad of visitors. Delighted we made the effort to get there on our Japan trip and in the winter too.

The meals (both dinner and breakfast) served at the restaurant were exceptional, we were extremely grateful to the staff for accommodating our daughter’s vegetarian dietary needs even though we did not inform the hotel in advance. They also promptly changed our room once we noticed that the air condition unit was not working. Our special thanks to the mangers at the front desk for their excellent service.

It is a simple quiet hotel. It is very clean and comfortable. The room was spacious. There is no onsen but it has a great shower. There is a small restaurant near the nearby Seven Eleven where we had a lovely meal. You need a car to easily reach this place. Thanks to the hotel for also providing soft pillows!

Good location. Comfortable and spacious room. Quite a large spa for a city hotel, free ice cream, yakult and ramen like all Dormy inns. Many seafood restaurants within a short drive. Good base for exploring the Kitami and Abashiri/Shiretoko regions
