-Private onsen
-Had a great time at the pool (if you do not book directly with the hotel, you need to pay 750 yen each, but definitely worth it). Went at night and had the whole pool to ourselves. Several different jet pools and a massive sauna with a tv inside!
-Beautiful views of the national park outside our window
-Huge room with western style beds and a lovely area with tatami mats

The location is fantastic. The availability of horseback riding throughout the valley was the primary reason for our selection of El Patio. The horseback riding experience was terrific. The room was large, modern, clean and very comfortable and with a nice "Western" theme style. The personnel were all very friendly and helpful.

My parents came to visit me from America. This was by far the best accommodation they booked for the trip. It was incredibly roomy and the beds were very comfortable (according to them). I highly recommend this house to anyone looking for accommodation in Aso. I will say that I don't know how convenient it is to get to by public transportation because I drove my car. You have a beautiful view of the mountains from the porch/front door. It's very quiet in the area. The house was incredibly clean and well-stocked (plenty of soap/shampoo, tea, and coffee).

The front desk staff were excellent. In particular, one of the ladies (from Nepal) spoke excellent English and went out of her way to help us make a car ferry reservation.
Breakfast and dinner buffets were good. As were the onsen facilities.

The dinner and breakfast are excellent. Tasty and huge!
Great views. Great trip. Only disappointment is the blue "lake" in Nakadake Crater. All the pictures show the "lake" while to my understanding it was destroyed during the 2016 earthquake. It was what drawn my attention to this location to begin with, so it was disappointing not seeing it. All these pictures should be replaced with what currently is there, not what used to be there.
Yoshi was super friendly and helpful in giving tips and recommendations on places to eat, visit etc. Upon arrival I was given tea, a handmade map and a little lottery snack. I didn't win but was still gifted a snack bag. Sleeping area is upstairs in the building next door to the caravan and tent pictured. The place felt homey with all the little touches and details. I only stayed one night here but will recommend this place for those who want to experience living in ASO.
Jumping from 3 to 4 stars has been a great experience. I liked everything, especially dinner and breakfast. The classic japanese style room was pleasant and peaceful and the mountains view was gorgeous. The onsen is of course a plus and there is a shuttle to the train station. I don't see what could be better than this . Better to book half board because there is nothing nearby to provide food. Unless you have a car or book a taxi. An absolute awesome stay.
It was nice to have free onsen to use and buffet with a very large spread. For those who want to experience Japanese style hotel with the family, I would highly recommend!
Very close to Aso train station. Nice communal dining area with free coffee and tea. Room is clean and comfortable. Ample free parking lots if you drive.
