We spent two wonderful days and two nights with Mikiko and Kei at the Farmhouse Harubatei. We were welcomed with a comforting cup of tea. Then Mikiko, a botany graduate, introduced us to all the unique plants, edible or not, in her garden. The dinner served to us was delicious. Our room, with tatamis and futons, was very spacious and quiet. The next day, our hosts took us to gather aralia and warabi (young fern shoots). Kei kindly accompanied us to the starting point of a hike that allowed us to discover an ancient temple nestled in the forest. He then came back to pick us up. In the evening, our hosts invited us to share their dinner, which we greatly appreciated. This second dinner was just as exquisite, as were the breakfasts, plentiful and refined. It was clean and comfortable. The hosts were very kind and we felt like staying at home. The dinner was delicious and the traditional breakfast was a great experience. Goshuin stamp and meditation were amazing.

The stay in the farm was really fantastic! I recommend to spend 3 or 4 nights there, to enjoy the calm of the area and to try farming and cooking rice and miso soup . The hosts are very thoughtful and I enjoyed speaking with them about Japan and others things. We have also done the « Okudosan » activity, which I recommend. The women during the activity were very nice and we had a lot of fun.

Amazing place!! Such friendly hosts, we loved talking to them and they made us feel comfortable. Clearly very polished and thought out in the layout and facilities - the rooms were all beautiful, comfortable and private, even fresh flowers and so many books to choose from. The food really was incredibly special with generous portions, everything was delicious. The private onsen was our favourite. Beautiful room with a very large bath. Thank you so much!!
