Located in Gujo, 2.3 mi from Takasu Snow Park, Sun Members Hirugano features accommodations with a restaurant, free private parking, free bikes and a bar. It was realized one day before the arrival that the room we booked was a smoking room. Thus, we requested to change the room from Smoking room to Non-smoking room. When we arrived, the 3rd single bed was not ready for my son (room with three single beds was requested.) So we inquired about the readiness of the 3rd bed. Then, the staff immediately responded to our inquiry and proposed an alternate solution to change the room for better room as it would take time to make ready the 3rd single bed in the room once it was assigned. It was impressive that their response was so quick and the solution they proposed was excellent.

Yanaka no Taisuke features air-conditioned rooms with flat-screen TV in the Gujo Hachiman district of Gujo. Even though a little hard to find in the beginning because of google maps it was a lovely place with the most comfortable bed we had in Japan. Has everything you need for a stay and easy see to residence.
Opened in 2014, 女性専用まちやど -Women Only- offers accommodations with free WiFi access in the center of the Gunjo Hachiman area. It was perfect. The owner is really lovely. She made a Japanese diner for 500Yen. The place is perfect and clean. The kitchen is huge. There are 2 kittens, really nice.
Traditional multi-course dinners, air-conditioned Western-style rooms with Yukata robes await guests at Hotel Sekisuien, which offers hilltop views and a peaceful forest setting. The staff was helpful, friendly, and answered questions about the local area. We had the daily breakfast plan and the staff made sure our breakfast was a little bit different each day.

This is a skiing region, yet there are plenty of possibilities in other seasons as well. Excellent Onsen, great hiking opportunities, and most probably mountain biking is an option as well. There is for sure a huge golf course. Limited public transport almost exclusively in Japanese, own or rental car thus advised. Excellent food available in the limited number of bars and restaurants this place offers.
We were here for the winter snow sports, 2 main mountains Dyanland and the interlinked takasu. Takasu was great but Dynaland was more crowded and conditions more icy. The area is predominately farmland. Probably more pleasant in the summer. The days are shorter in the winter and there is a lack of restaurants in the evening . You’d have to drive to the closest down ( 25 mins away), not so pleasant when it’s icy conditions outside and in the dark.
The little town of Gujo-hachiman that I stayed in was so peaceful, everything was so close and you can see so many beautiful, handcrafted items in the shops just along the main roads. I spent my days mainly taking photos of the picturesque views and walking around town, though I found the fake food sample place to be really interesting; you can even make your own samples!
Super friendly town. Almost like a smaller version of takayama.even with our language barrier we had great experiences everywhere we went. Restaurants were very friendly and we just enjoyed strolling around.
