A must see place if you visit Japan for 2 weeks we stayed 2...

A must see place if you visit Japan for 2 weeks we stayed 2 days and spent half a day on Miyajima. Could have seen more of Hiroshima and surrounding areas. Great overground tram system running to time as expected.

Miyajima island is a must....allow plenty of time to enjoy...

Miyajima island is a must....allow plenty of time to enjoy the deer, food, shops, ropeway and walks. Catch the streetcar from outside Hiroshima station to Miyajima ferry. Station to the ferry Y240, ferry Y300. streetcar takes about 1hour 50mins . Ferry 15mins. Good Okonomiyaki (Japanese vegetable pancake) in Hiroshima and Miyajima. Take a box of tissues if you visit the Peace Museum...so sad to see what horror humans are capable of inflicting on one another! So much more to see and do in Hiroshima.

Interesting place. Good food, nice and kind people.

Interesting place. Good food, nice and kind people. I made some friends that seems true genuine forever friends. Im happy visiting the city. Not a fancy place to clarify, but super friendly. You can do things here that in other bigger cities will cost you much more, like the archery class.

The Peace Park was very sobering and beautifully laid out.

The Peace Park was very sobering and beautifully laid out. The castles were a unique look into Japan's past. The underground shopping mall was a great place to be on a hot day. Travelling around town on the electric streetcars was fun.

Hiroshima is a great little city (1-2 million?)

Hiroshima is a great little city (1-2 million?) with a terrible history that it has turned to a force for good, lots of green space and mostly friendly and helpful locals. The Peace Museum is gut-wrenching, sobering and brilliant and all the memorials are worth seeing and thinking about. Miyajma Island was definitely worth a days trip too - even without the ropeway working.

The museum, park and river are easy to get to.

The museum, park and river are easy to get to. Good shopping which was not far away on the street car. We ate most meals near the hotel because I was sick. Wish we could have stayed longer to explore the area better.

The hotel is central to the port of Hiroshima, but not very central to the city itself. However we were there for cycling so being close to the port was convenient. It has a great vibe for cyclists and was fun from that aspect. Clean rooms, place to store bikes (twin room). There is a cool souvenir store for race team Victorie Hiroshima and also souvenirs from the hotel itself with bicycle themes. It's all very new and architecturally great, lots of parking too if you have a car.

Great location for getting around Hiroshima. Easy transit from Shinkansen to hotel right in the station. Loads of food options in station. Staff was very friendly and rooms were clean and comfortable. Recommend booking corner rooms, amazing views.
