They greeted me every morning when I walked in and out of the hotel, making me feel like a valued guest. The room was exceedingly comfortable and clean. The heater in the room made the temperature just right. The bathroom was nice. Great views overlooking Hita from the upper floors! The vending machines made it extremely convenient to get drinks, soup, or noodles at any time. I stayed at almost every hotel in Hita during my month-long trip and Route Inn was my favorite.

This property provides both free WiFi and private parking free of charge.... - warm welcome from Junko and the team - very nice forest onsen - rooms are renovated: toilets, shower, bathroom new and modern - spacious room (for us a family of 4) - excellent Japanese dinner and breakfast … and the kids even had a gift from Junko when we left! => We visited lots of Ryokan in Japan but for us this one is a special star!
The old downtown area was so cute and the Attack on Titan locations were really fun to visit. The food in the area was very delicious, but many places closed early or required reservations for dinner.
Go in November for the festival. There is an afternoon Edo era street parade down the old merchant quarter on Saturday, bands and performances, another parade of Neputa floats at night. The riverbanks and surrounding streets are lit by thousands of bamboo lights. Carnival atmosphere. Staff at the info centre next to the railway station have maps and timings. Held November 9/10/11 in 2018.

The location was fantastic--great view and close to center of the city. The breakfast was delicious and the staff were very helpful. We went on one of the houseboat dinners and really enjoyed it!
