The roads were wide enough that it was easy to sightsee on...

The roads were wide enough that it was easy to sightsee on foot. There were plenty of soft serve ice cream and souvenir shops. The hamburger steak at Sawayaka was delicious. I got a little lost because I couldn't find Tenryu Hamanako Railway Station. I wish they would accommodate residents from other prefectures who are unfamiliar with the area. JR was very kind. Currently, Shizuoka is being promoted in connection with the historical drama "What Will I Do?". The Tenryu Hamanako Railway also had a train wrapped in "What Will I Do?". I recommend it because you can check the operating hours on their website.

The city stretches from north to south and east to west, and...

The city stretches from north to south and east to west, and is easily accessible by Shinkansen from Tokyo, Nagoya, and Osaka, but it's impossible to travel within the city without a car. Buses take a long time, run infrequently, and taxis are too expensive. There's a tourist association at the station, so you can get most information. Most accommodations are hotels, with few inns. Accommodation can be a bit of a hassle if you have small children or children who have difficulty sleeping in a bed. Some hotels can be very crowded in the morning, so if the hotel knows this, it would be helpful if they could let you know what breakfast times are available.
