Host was lovely, so helpful. Offered to drive us, gave us snacks, breakfast and coffee/tea also let us use umbrellas. Great stay, cozy and personal without being too much. Would definitely stay again

The owner was extremely friendly. The dinner was amazing. I was definitely worth coming here for the food. It was raining when we arrived but the next day it was beautiful. The pension was located in a beautiful setting. Highly recommend.

Our stay at Kiso no Yado Iwaya was wonderful! The room was cozy, comfortable, and spacious. The staff was incredibly attentive, and the dinner was absolutely delicious — a true taste of authentic Japanese cuisine. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a traditional experience!

We enjoyed our stay so much. Beautiful location in the mountains with green view from the room. The room itself was large and comfortable. The design is from another area (not modern) but we found it part of the charm, made us feel relaxed and comfy. Dinner and breakfast were wonderful. I contacted them a few days in advanced to inquire regarding vegetarian options, and they made alternative vegetarian versions for each of the meat courses just for me - I really appreciated the care! And they were just as delicious. The staff were kind and attentive and the owner very sweet. Perfect getaway, and great value for money.

Great view and position on a picturesque place. The onsen was very, very nice, staff are kind. Breakfast and lunch are top quality set menus, with top presentation - well worth adding them, especially given that there isn't anything around walking distance. Great 5 star experience for a relaxing day in nature.

The rate per night is reasonable for the location and inclusions. The staff were warm and helpful. There was a bit of a concern with my luggage delivery to the airport, but they were quick to assist. Breakfast and dinner are included with the room. Few options for breakfast, but the dinner selections were all delicious and filling. The 24-hour drink bar is also a huge plus. The single room is a little dated but it's spacious and comfortable. There is an ensuite sink which is convenient. The onsen is nice. It was always clean whenever I used it. I stayed for five (5) nights and had it to myself most of the time.

A lovely hotel with exceptional staff. They were very helpful and attentive to our needs. The meals that we reserved ahead of time were delicious and beautifully presented. The shuttle service was perfect for our needs from the Kiso-Fukushima station to the hotel. We were hiking the Nakasendo Trail, and it was great to stay here. We left our luggage at the station lockers , as we were heading to Kyoto after our hike.

Lovely town on histori Nakasendo trail that has several temples and museums. There are several hotels and onsen to stay. It' has enough in town to see or can venture out to other spots by bus or train. It is also near ski areas and parks.

Kiso Fukishima is a wonderful town and once we moved to a better Ryokan we thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the region. Easy access for the Nakesendo walks and a very pretty town. Great walk up to the waterfall- steep but stunning.

Staying in the upgrading room from Takumisou1 guest house is the most wonderful traveling experience ever, if you choose to stay in the vicinity of Fukushima country, staying at Takumisou guest house is a good idea. You will be surprised by the passionate & kind service from the house host.
