100 years old family home with a beautiful Japanese garden, 2 minutes walk to a quiet beach. The bikes to get around and to the train station. The house can get cold at night but there are heating options and the futons were warm and comfy. Drinking tea while watching the garden was perfect
Kushimoto is a small town. If you're interested in night life, this probably isn't the place for you (the town seemed to be almost entirely silent by 9 pm). But the area is absolutely beautiful. We drove to Kumano Nachi Taisha in the day, then the Hashiguiiwa rocks in the evening, then to Shionomisaki lighthouse the next day. There's a lot of nature in the area and it seems like a great place to escape the cities.
