The variety of breakfast food was surprisingly large for a budget hotel, and there was plenty of it. Free wi-fi! It’s a minute’s walk from the train station, bus terminal, tourist info center, and numerous shops and restaurants.

OYO Hotel Yakumo ligt in Matsue, op 3 km van het meer Shinji, en biedt accommodatie met gratis WiFi en gratis privéparkeergelegenheid. Friendly staff, easy to find. It was 10 minutes drive from Matsue castle but don’t know about public transport. Room was small but comfortable. We stayed on the 3rd floor and there is no lift so a little difficult to get our bag up. Otherwise a nice place to stay for 4000 yen a night.

Het Matsue New Urban Hotel ligt op 7 minuten rijden van het JR-station Matsue en op 12 minuten lopen van het kasteel van Matsue. 1. Free hot spring in 3rd floor. Not sure where the hot spring comes from but anyway, a very good facility. 2. Though communication is a little problem but the staffs there are quite nice. 3. The breakfast is in the 9th floor where you can see the lake and bridge. Nice view! 4. A lot japanese bar nearby but I never try. 5. Only ten minutes to the Matsue castle.

Matsue Plaza Hotel biedt eenvoudige kamers met een flatscreen-tv, op slechts 2 minuten lopen van het JR-station Matsue. The location is just right in front of the JR Matsue Station, so it's very convinient to catch up with your schedule for train or bus. For the price we paid, it was pretty much average and might be a very good choice for solo travellers. The room didn't smell like cigarettes, so it was a pleasant stay.
