Booked very last minute, was able to get a booking at a good price. Did not really look at the listing or reviews much so the hotel really exceeded expectations given the late hour. Breakfast and sento was fantastic for the price.

This guesthouse is truly special. The accommodation (we chose the amazing family room) has been beautifully restored, the private onsen with incredible alkaline waters was fantastic after a long day of walking and driving. The area is indescribably peaceful, a beautiful rural hideaway to be at peace with the world. The river and shrine nearby were spectacular. We would strongly recommend both dinner and breakfast - Maki is an amazing chef using fresh local ingredients and tailoring the menu to our needs. Perhaps the best aspect was our hosts, who made us feel completely at home. Our only regret was not staying longer - we’ll be returning!
