I liked Sapporo a lot! There're many places to visit, different parks, very interesting historical village (spent there several hours). Try Ganso Ramen Yakocho- very tasty! You can take a local train to Niseko to see or hike the main volcano of Hokkaido-mt.Yotei. I'd like to stay longer, but had to come back home.
There are so many places to visit while in Sapporo. The city also offers varieties of food that will make you want to try them all. You should not miss soup curry, miso and shoyu ramen, and most especially, crabs! If you are visiting on the weekend, purchase a "donichi" (do means Saturday, and nichi means Sunday) ticket at the ticket counter for only 570 (if I'm not mistaken), so you can experience unlimited subway rides.
It was our 2nd time to Sapporo, and we used it mostly as a hub city before treking out to the snowy mountains to stay at a ski resort. The first time we visited Sapporo, we were able to attend the Winter Ice Festival which I highly recommend. You can spend 2 days on that activity. This trip however we just missed the Ice Festival, so we visited other sites we didn't have time on our previous trip to do: Shiroi Koibito Chocolate Factory Park and the Sapporo Beer Musuem, both of which were a lot of fun and I really recommend others to visit: YUM!!! Also, if you're an anime nerd like me, don't miss out on the Sapporo Pokemon Center and Animate shop.
Sapporo was a quick stop before going back home after staying in Niseko. It is like a mini Tokyo. We had a great time eating and exploring. Pretty much everyone is very friendly and appreciative for coming to their restaurant or store. We don't speak Japanese so it was a little hard but discovered Google Translate on our last day and found it very helpful... if only we discovered that on our first day in Japan! Easy to get around with the Maps app on our iPhone. We never got lost because of it, always found our way back to the hotel. We went to the Sapporo TV Tower but the weather was not in our favor so we couldn't see far but checked it out anyways. We also went to the Sapporo Beer museum, it was ok but the beer tasting part was closed for cleaning the day we went so that wasn't great. There is a place to eat called the Sapporo Beer garden and you cook your food at your table, it is VERY Smokey and you will smell like a camp fire but it's good and all you can eat and drink. They give you a plastic bag to put your coat in so it won't smell too much. I can't remember the names of all the places we ate but there are so many you just have to try them out. Don't miss the tall buildings with like 6-8 stories, there are great hidden secret places to eat and drink! Check them out! We took a day trip to Otaru and had a tour guide from Magical Trip. It was worth it because our guide Bertrand was so knowledgeable of the town and we learned a lot. Had we just walked around without a guide we would not have known the history. We got to Otaru from the Sapporo station by our hotel, It was easy to figure out. Overall great trip if you're in the town just be adventurous and explore! You won't get lost even though it feels like it. :)
Sapporo is nice with several things to see. I went during the Snow Festival which has some amazing things. It is also famous for its ramen (try "Ramen Alley" in Suskino). There's tons of places to go shopping. In the future I would like to visit again during summer (the heavy snow & ice made walking tedious).
It is easy to get around Sapporo. Many places are within walking distance of each other. Places that are further away can easily be reached by train, bus or tram. It was a great place to visit for the Sapporo snow festival. I would recommend checking out the Sapporo beer factory. The Sapporo TV tower was also a great spot to see the city as well as an aerial view of Odori park. You can get a special two admission ticket so you can go there during the day and at night. There are many places to do shopping, such as Tanukikoji and surrounding department stores. If the weather is not too good, there is an underground road that goes from Susukino station all the way to Odori park. Many stores and restaurants here.
I don't often give really good reviews like this. But I think they deserve it from a tall/really big guy perspective. The rooms were full of space considering other hotels I've stayed in. I could actually move around and stand in the shower. I could actually use the toilet normally. Close to the station and surrounded by coffee places and restaurants and supermarkets aswell being close to the park where the ice festival is held. Slight warning, they serve Japanese styled breakfast here. So if your not into that you can swap the tickets for coffee at Tully, a orange cake from the hotel, use the tickets later for dinner instead of breakfast or to a nearby Cafe. I used them all but 1 for Tullys coffee. All in all I was not disappointed at all. You even get to use a free android cellphone with unlimited data while your staying there. I was on the second floor so didn't really had that great of a view but it was better then staring at a wall in other hotels.
When we entered the hotel, it surprised me with everything. Their welcome drink, friendly stuff and even provide pyjamas. We enjoyed the bar time with free drink on certain time. The breakfast was excellent. Simple and nice. I lost my diamond ring in the hotel, they helped me search for everywhere possible. we did played snow at the rooftop balcony and the ring might has high probability lost their. Once the snow melt, they help me to search on it. And Yes, they found my ring. They are so helpful and honest! I really thankful for that!
Very clean. Close to subway. Many good restaurants & bars in walking distance (walk around narrow side streets, you will find very friendly joints). 2-3 minutes walk to department stores (great foods on B1 floor to take away). 1 minute walk to Nijo market (you can have breakfast & lunch there). Friendly staff. Free alcohol lounge for members incl regional special beer Sapporo Classic on tap, nice wines, scotch, etc (1 hour). Highly recommend to become a member (free). The best value for money hotel in Sapporo by far!!!
Location is ideal! Less than 5 minutes walk from Sapporo station and Odori Park. So easy to get around and the rooftop onsen is perfect to sooth those tired feet at the end of the day! Definitely recommend it.
Just next to JR Sapporo station, one of the main business circle. It’s very convenient to go shopping and to other sites. The room is not very spacious but comfortable enough for one person.
Fantastic location!!! Very informative & friendly staff. Cleaning lady was very polite. I would definitely recommend this hotel to family & friends.
