Food was very fresh and great value, especially their set lunches. Sapporo is easy to get around. There are plenty of hotels within walking distance of JR Sapporo (main shopping area). During the cold season, you can choose to walk in the underground walkway (ask hotel for directions). There is a l..o..n..g underground walkway near Odori Park to JR Sapporo (lots of shops and restaurants branching off the walkway). Decently-priced city compared to Tokyo. People here, despite lack of English, are much nicer and honest. Cf Shinjuku, where tourists can be slugged with unseen service charges when dining.
We came to Sapporo in December. We really enjoyed the location! We stayed at a hotel along Odori Park, which was a great central location to restaurants, shopping, etc. In December there was a spectacular illumination display and Christmas market in Odori Park, which we enjoyed. It was cold and there was lots of snow, but if dressed right, it was quite lovely. There is also an extensive underground passageway system to help getting from one place to another. We definitely recommend going to the Nishi Fish Market for breakfast. We also definitely recommend staying one night in a Japanese traditional hotel (ryokan) with onsen (hot springs). We stayed at a ryokan ~30 minutes outside Sapporo in Jozankei, which ended up being the highlight of our trip. The scenery, atmosphere, and everything was just so lovely! We were only in the area for 3 days, 4 nights but wish the trip could have been longer. We hope to come back and recommend this location to anyone!
I went to Sapporo for 3 days and easily I could have done it in 2. I looked up the top 10 things to do in Sapporo and I went to almost everyone of them. Some of them I found to be less than what I was expecting and by far underwhelming. My absolute favorite part was going up the TV tower at night because the view of the lights is spectacular. I was lucky to go when the illuminations were set up in the parks. They were so pretty. They even had a small German Christmas Market that was great. I also loved Mt Moiwa ropeway and the view from that direction and again at night it was beautiful. I found the beer museum to be a huge waste of time as they could not even seat me for lunch. I also went to the sake museum which is not really a museum at all. I took the train in to Otaru for lunch and that was very nice as it is on the coast. I even felt the shrine was very small and underwhelming although walking through the park with the leaves changing was nice. I would not recommend going here to anyone but if someone already had a trip planned I would not discourage them from going either. Trains were super easy to get around and the seafood dinners were great.
Fantastic City. Infrastructure and cleanliness is at its best. Pretty convenient transport system for both working guys and tourists. It has a circular tram service roaming around the city, including bus, subway and train services. All the tourist attractions are pretty nearby and it is also worth to roam around the city by just walking, inhaling the fresh air, enjoying fantastic weather during autumn. Must visit place should be Mount Moiwa availing the ropeway service from Iriguchi, even if you are there for work purpose, both during the day and night time. The evening view from the mountain is just inexplicable.
It is very easy to walk around in Sapporo with their streets named very efficiently. Around Sapporo Station, there are many department stores and restaurants where you can find everything you need. The underground walkway is fantastic and Odori Park is really pretty. Try soup curry, a Sapporo specialty!
I enjoyed visiting the major sights such as the T.V. Tower, the Sapporo Beer Museum, Odori Park, Shiroi Koibito Park/ Ishiya Chocolate Factory , The Museum of Modern Art and the Susukino District. There's much more to see for sure, but so little time! lol. But in my short time there I enjoyed my experience very much! Wonderful City!
First, this hotel has a GREAT location. It's a fairly short walk from a metro station, perhaps five minutes, and Nakajima Park, right across the street, is lovely. The view from the room I was in was solid as well - you could just see the park and the window was pretty large. The bathroom was good as well!
Great location right next to Odori park, you can see Sapporo TV Tower from the window. Comfortable room, nice interior, great bathroom with a big bathtub. Record player in the room is a nice touch, they have some good LPs available to rent. Rooftop will be great when it gets warmer. Recommend the hotel!
Location is highly strategic. Surrounded by an abundance of food options, shopping option, easy access to 2 subway lines. Also being 2 stations away from Sapporo JR station is a welcome bonus. Availability of an airport bus just across the road, coach services to Niseko resorts. I could go on...
Sapporo
The location was close to Sapporo station and had many restaurants and things to do around it within walking distance. The room was pretty big for the price and it was clean. The hotel had a lot of instructions in English too. All basic amenities were available and the staff was considerate.
The hotel is in an amazing location, directly opposite Nakajima park. It was simply beautiful in winter. It's just a short 2-3 minute walk to the nearest subway station, with easy access to downtown Sapporo. The staff are friendly and accommodating, and the free drink service is great!
1. free shuttle bus to Sapporo in the morning 2. Bus resort liner to Niseko stops at hotel so it’s very convenient 3. they prepared our rooms in advance and kept our parcels and luggage before we arrived 4. price is very reasonable for a 4 star hotel. 5. close to MRT
Good Location. Walking distance to subway, trams, and sapporo train station. Tourist attractions were also easily accessible from the hotel. Environment is quiet, other than the noise coming from the ventilation. Last but not least, it is clean and hygienic.
The hotel is right next to Sapporo station. Staff were friendly and the hotel is very clean. The breakfast was nice with both Japanese and western style buffet breakfast. I liked the seafood selection of salmon roe, shrimp, and squid.
Very close to the Sapporo Station. Room was cleaned everyday. Staff were friendly. Room view was alright as there was no views in the other hotels I've stayed at in Japan.
The restaurant is modern, the food is good and has good value for money. The hotel is clean, location is good 15-20 min on foot from Sapporo station.
This was my second stay at The Knot and it will be my "go to" hotel when visiting Sapporo. The location and facilities are great.
The hotel is next to station and Nakajima Park. There is a coffee shop at lobby and lawson just across the street
Best location, self service hotel, but very clean and comfy, really great experience in sapporo
The hotel is very clean and is located near Sapporo station.
